Roto-Rooter Sewer & Drain Service

We had a back up in our bathroom, dirty water rising from our shower and from around the base of our toilet. We've only owned the house for three years and had a somewhat similar problem a couple of years ago. We brought in a "rooting" service who, at the time, told us that the next step would be to phone Roto Rooter. Having never owned a home before, I've never had to deal with sewer issues, but I've heard of this company for years on television and radio. My wife phoned in and put the guy on speaker. Once the problem was explained, he indicated that it would be over $200/hour, with a minimum 1-hour cost. When we asked about being billed once the job was done, the guy explained that it would have to be cash on site. I tried to explain the problem with that policy since, if the job took several hours, we didn't have hundreds of dollars on hand in our home. The guy simply said that if we didn't have cash on site, he wouldn't come. I asked him about figuring out some way to invoice us so we could pay later on after we'd had a chance to get the money, and he replied that it was Roto Rooter policy and it's how they've always done it for the past thirty-some years. I explained that we've used plumbers and plumbing services before and that they are all able to invoice people, so there should be a way. The guy's only response was that they weren't "plumbers" they were a sewer clearing service. That pretty much ended the conversation. The guy was curt and didn't seem concerned with the issues we were having. Considering we have a four-year old child in the house and my wife is pregnant, a working toilet and shower aren't luxuries they are necessities. It might have been nice if Roto Rooter had shown a little compassion and better customer service. We didn't even get a chance to use them and I can still say that if you have an issue where you need help immediately, go elsewhere! These guys don't know how to treat customers.

I have had Roto Rooter out s few times and just recently I had them replace my sewer line when i went to go yesterday it took me to mr rooter. Please be careful as they are not the same company and not connected in anyway. I almost left my comments on Mr. Rooter because that is where it took me too I knew it was wrong because they never have specials. no surprises quote is given and you know where you stand. Had them out on a Sunday and before he come he told me exactly what it would cost. Darren has been the very very best to us always upfront with cost and more important explains things so you understand. The whole crew from the boss down have been awesome with the job of replacing the sewer. What is more important is I do not have the big mound of dirt on my lawn. A very small round whole was made and maybe 3 feet of grass needs to be replaced. Most important is how very good they all are. Darren also brought something to my attention a plumber did and need the attention ASAP Of someone else thank you Darren. Please be aware before leaving a negative comment call then and they will make it good. There is nothing worse than Negative comments on your business when it was a different business that was out. Positive comments are good but negative comments harm the smaller business when it isnt even your bussiness.

Roto-Rooter did water and sewer line replacement at our 1960s home - without trenching up the yard or basement. They made a small hole (3 foot diameter or so) in the yard, broke the concrete in the basement near the stacks, and pulled the new pipe in under the house, bursting and replacing the old cast iron pipe. it was all complete in two days, including the concrete repair in the basement and there's just a spot of sand left in the yard. They went out of their way to make sure everything was done to high standards. Highly recommend.

They came to fix a plugged sink line in a home of two seniors. In process of snaking out the line they broke a pipe. They didn't fix the pipe then charged them $157 and left. The senior then spent hours fixing the pipe they broke turned on the water and the line is still plugged. So they called them back to tell them it is still plugged. The tech called his boss and the boss said charge them another $100!!!!! It appears this company likes to take advantage of people. What makes it worse is these were seniors they were taking advantage of. Does anyone want to support a company like this? I sure hope not.

Leroy and Shane were so quick to take off; they forgot their hose extension, and didn't clean up the mess from the back-flowing sewer line (clogged by tree roots). Edit: I contacted their office as per the response from the owner requesting that I contact their office. The owner attempted to deny just about everything; so I am not sure why he wanted me to contact aside from trying make it look like he actually cares when he doesn't. My review is accurate, and it is honest.

the drain pan in our lot was frozen and we had a large lake. They did not take very long to de-ice the drain and resolve the flooding issue

The best service ever. On time, knowledgeable crew, polite and actually cared about the job they were doing. 100% would recommend this company and will for sure be the first place I call if if I ever need sewer work done again.

We had cast iron sewer line replaced last winter, and had them install a sump pump this month. The office called before they came, and they came on time. We had quotes, and they explained very thoroughly. The work was very efficient, and clean. Both office staff and Darren are an absolute pleasure to deal with.
