Rose & Crown - Banff

I appreciate that they check vaccinations and ensure masks are being worn when not at your table. My very first time at this location and our server was wonderful. Not only did we have quick service and good food, but he was very friendly and professional! After finding out we were visiting the area he advised us of their live music in the evenings daily and that he was off that next night as well and would also be there for the music. After gaining knowledge of the LIVE Music, we decided to check it out the next evening... that's when what I would've originally rated the Rose & Crown location on Banff Ave changed from a 10/10 to a 2/10... When we arrived in the evening, the guy at the front checked our vaccines and advised us to sit anywhere we'd like. We had waited 37mins before anyone approached or acknowledged us. The LIVE Music had not yet started but was testing out the mics. We not only were there to enjoy a few drinks and music, but to have a bite to eat. There were two floor servers on shift on our side of tables, both had stood and walked right next to us a total of 6 times before we had walked up to the bar and grabbed a drink (he was prompt).. after again multiple times being passed by and being unacknowledged by the floor servers my partner called over one of the servers and asked who's section we were in and explained that we had to go up to the bar (even after telling the bartender that we had been waiting and no one came up to us). That night two people had their phones stolen and one spiked. I recommend keeping a close eye on your belongings if you'd like to check this place out in the evenings. As noted below the music was amazing but there service was not. The only service we had that was good was at noon the day before, when it was quiet, which was a completely different staff. LIVE Music: 10/10 Food: 8/10 Staff & Service: 2/10 Safety/Security: 2/10 Unfortunately after this experience, neither of us will be back.

The only reason it's lacking a star is due to stocking circumstances. I was unable to get many of the typically available gluten free options (cider, gf beer). All else was great. Service, food, etc. Get the kettle chips while you decide on a meal. So yummy.

We stopped in at 9pm on a Saturday night. Looked like they were getting ready for a rowdy night. Not really our thing. We ordered fish and chips to share. The food came really quickly which was nice. Massive order of fish and chips I didn’t think it was anything special but there was nothing wrong with it either. Probably just not my kind of place.

Stopped in for drink and late supper about 9 15pm. Starting to get busy. Service was very quick and friendly. Meals were very good. Prices good as well. Was packed by 10pm. Serving staff working very hard. Nice atmosphere. Defenitely recommend. Was Wednesday evening when we were there.

Decided to come here on while on vacation because we wanted to have a rooftop beer. Found a hidden gem. Staff was amazing, attentive and friendly. The food was incredible , the fish and chips were delicious but the tartar sauce was the star of the show. And you just can't beat that view. 10/10

Great place to let loose in Banff lots of locals so you know it's all good. Awesome pizza my lady liked the 1/2 price bottles of wine.

Had a nice time at this bar. The women's washroom was clean enough but in my opinion it was a tad sketchy. 1/2 doors did not lock to the stalls and the main door was left open with the men's washroom being past the women's door. So any fella who walks by can see in and see your breeches while your doing your thing. Otherwise, service was nice and prompt. Area was clean. The stairs are a tad sketchy once you have had too many bevvies ?

This place has great food, drinks and live music. It started out mellow and got progressively more lively as the night went on. Such a good time!
