★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This store is a real gem! It's like the way hardware stores used to be before they became like big box stores. Lots of helpful staff, and the store has an impressively large inventory for a relatively smallish store. Actually, the size is deceptive. Although the main floor's square footage isn't huge, the store also has a large basement level AND a second floor where the electrical products are sold. One of the things I love most is their counter downstairs. You show them a screw (or whatever item) you need to match, and they go back into their stock area and come back with a box of the exact right ones, and put a few in a paper bag for you and write down the price. Old-timey, personalized service, and way better than Canadian Tire, where I wander up and down the aisles without finding a clerk, finally find the right screws myself, but have to buy a pack of 50, when I only need 8!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best store for home hardware. I've been here many times, and all of the staff I interacted with was always friendly, kind, helpful and knowledgeable. The store might seem small, but it is well equipped. The staff will go above and beyond to help out.

Knowledgeable friendly staff , always eager to help.
The perfect place for all these who are fed up with the big box hardware stores that has grumpy staff that sends you on wild goose chases when you come looking for something.
I always see contractor van's outside and that's a definite sign this is the place to go to .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great selection.- probably best in Montreal, like the former late-lamented Pascals hardware, downtown. Someone told me they have 30% MORE line items, eg. brass wire, wire rope clips, taper shank drills springs of various sizes, than the large big-box stores. + free parking, though downtown. What's not to love?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Much bigger than it looks. Has most of what you need crammed into here. Looks clean and organized in here, a bit more then the RONA on st-Patrick. Also has parking which is a big advantage.

Yesterday I had to get a battery for my car key. It was urgent ( it's called procrastination). I have much trouble walking so I parked outside the main doors, closer than the parking lot, but I had to get over the snow bank. It was an ambitious plan and went seriously wrong. I was deciding whether going back or forward would offer the least pain. At best inelegantly tumbling , at worst a trip to the General with something broken.
Suddenly the store doors slid open , this was a job for... Rona Hardware Man. He offered a helping arm to lean on and helped me down. We went inside, bought a battery, he put it in the key, tested it.,went outside with me , back over the snow bank to the door of my car.
Now that is customer service.
