Post 1 of 2 Best Rona in town! I had a recent experience to which I felt it was important for folks to be aware of. I purchased over 60 patio stones for a "covid project". I purchased my stones from Rona Bowness, delivery of my stones came a few days later. The stones were delivered on my street and I transported(solo) over, 3900lbs to store on my property while I prepared the ground. As I moved my stones to the storage area (the delivery fellow had already left) I noticed a big chunk of my stones were cracked right through the middle or on the corners. I wasn't too upset to the fact that I knew some would likely be broken or chipped(as expected). As I got further down to the bottom of the first pallet it became apparent that every stone on the bottom 3-4 layers was broken. On the second pallet it was much the same story, again being not that upset I knew it wasn't my fault these stones came this way and watching the delivery guy on how careful he was placing them down I knew Rona would understand. I called their dispatch folks and explained I was out a few stones and I couldn't finish my project without more, they quickly made arrangements to bring some to my home. The fellow arrived a few days later and all stones were intact on his truck. He helped my unload onto my grass (maybe 10-15 stones) all were not broken or cracked, I thanked him and off he went. I then proceeded to move this new set of stones to my storage area when I noticed once I got down to the bottom 3 layers the same thing had happened! (cracks right through the middle and the corners). One thing COVID has taught me is to carry extra patience, I then kept what stones I had and loaded my truck myself with the broken ones and made the trip down in person to Rona, Bowness(its a fair drive for me but as I mentioned this is the best store in town). Once I got there I drove into the yard and explained my story to the gate attendant. I then went inside and spoke to customer service, as I was walking out to my truck there was a fellow by the name of Kim(I believe he is a manager of some sort in the yard) and I overheard him talking with some of the other associates in the store he mentioned there is a customer in the yard with "a whole bunch of broken patio slab in his truck". I interrupted him and said I am that guy, he said "come with me sir" as we walked to my truck he was very apologetic, I told him the story and he was extremely understanding. We walked over to my truck full of rubble and he made arrangements for yard staff help me unload while he tried to track down more stones for me. As it turned out they only had a handful of stones and they all were in pretty poor shape so he told me he would make arrangements for replacement and have them shipped to my house. A few days later my shipment came while I was at work, the stones were on my grass and I went to move them to my storage location when I realized the delivery fellow had taken my "still good" stones I had in storage in replacement of the stones he was dropping off. Little did he know I had actually taken the broken ones in already. The day I left the yard after speaking with Kim he gave me his phone number to which I called right away again explaining the circumstances. In true Kim fashion he was again very apologetic, he felt so terrible he even offered to load a bunch in his own vehicle and transport them to my house for me! I thought to myself, here is a guy whom is offering to go well out of his way for me due to my inconvenience when he could just have shipped more and be done with it. I am not sure how many of you folks have been in the home improvement stores during COVID, but I can tell you that for a man like Kim and staff at Rona Bowness to have this amount of patience and continued focus on customer service is incredible (I have seen staff patience wearing thin at other stores) .I told Kim I was ok to wait for more stones and he made arrangements to have more shipped, again apologizing profusely. Their stock system is very inaccurate we have come back 3 times this week as we keep being told the item will be in the next day. I phoned today and after being on hold for 10mins the call had called back twice to the main line and then finally just hung up on me. I went to the location and they told me oh that happens. If you know your phone hangs up on people Megan it would be a good idea to get their phone number ahead of time. I appreciated everyone looking for the item it’s just been a big waste of time for us. We try to shop local in Bowness but they make it very hard to want too.

Sam assisted us for picking up dirt from the back yard and the store is more cheap than Canadian tire and Home depot, there is a variety of products and the staff were friendly and cheerful, very neat and organized products in a way that you never miss anything. I hope this store has the same popularity like the others

This Rona particular is probably my favorite in the city. The Rona is Forest lawn is pretty good too, along with the Rona on Edmonton trail. Anyway, the Bowness location is my favorite, but it's a close race. I hope that Lowes keeps the small stores alive. I don't get the same shopping experience and customer service in the large stores.

Used to love the store, but certainly not after hearing about how management treats the staff! The new manager of the store, Dee, yells at staff, makes them cry, passes the buck, and cannot lead! A good manager can support new staff with patience and understanding! This one rules by fear! I know for a fact that current employees are looking for new jobs because of her mismanagement, and they have been there for over 2 decades! In fact, employees are starting statements regarding the manager because her actions are so utterly toxic! The store is a total disaster, and is short-staffed (because people are leaving the abuse)! No one cares to properly train any new staff, and then screams at them for not doing things right. It's absolutely the worst way to treat trainees, and proves one's integrity by acting in such a toxic manner. Do not apply to this location if you want to keep your sanity!

The staffs of this store are quite customer friendly. I had ordered an appliance from Bowness to be delivered in Ft McMurray. There were a few issues with the delivery date, it changed twice but the staffs worked on it and kept me informed on what was going wrong and how they were trying to fix it. This is understandable as the delivery was happening in another city and they are dependent on their trucking companies. But the store personnel were always available for working to resolve the issues.

Just had the best experience at Rona Bowness. Staff-especially Chris !!!- were superb, knew their products and were so helpful. Customer service 10/10 and a smile and kind attitude the entire time. Why can't every shopping experience be this positive? HUGE kudos !

Thank you Chris P. for your excellent customer service Monday night. I went to get painted tinted. He was over in a flash with a big smile to help. He clearly explained the pros and cons and went on with the job as I agreed. By the way Home Depot refused to do the simple task as I requested. Thanks Michael
