★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I arrived into the café today for a coffee and a sandwich. Went to the counter to order, staff offered me a cup for the coffee and told me she would be with me in a moment. Waited and no sign. I picked up a menus. Still no sign of staff. Behind me there was a staff member sitting with someone, chatting. No sign of help. It was not busy. Two tables were occupied and served. Still no service. Another customer came in, ordered at the counter and still no server over to ask what I wished to order. Finally went to the counter to pay for the coffee and the only response I received " I was going to get to you". This is the second time I have been here since the new owners took over. The first visit was "ok" but I am sad to say I will not be back. When it was Katies, service was good and you did not mind waiting as the staff was very pleasant and at least made you feel like you had not been forgotten. The glib response at the end of the visit has sealed the deal for me. I will not be back.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good place to have a cup of coffee. The huge cookies look really good. I'll try next time. Now my lunch sandwich was a bit dry and in need of some butter or mayo.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place was super cute and nice and gave great helpings of ice cream. This place has a plain menu but nonetheless this place is still nice and cozy. My biggest problem is the prices but then again, many small businesses are pricey, but they do give you the best product for your money. This is definetly one of those places.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Update! Phenomenal food all homemade. Excellent staff! Really nice place to visit. Seating has changed since my last review at the start of covid. Now very covid careful, great ambiance, tin ceilings and great interior design. The jewel of Sunderland in my opinion. Lunch was busy but delicious.
