About Rise Calgary - Forest Lawn
Rise Calgary is born out of collaboration and deep partnership between BowWest Community Resource Centre and Sunrise Community Link. We operate city wide to provide help for today, and hope for tomorrow.
Our small but mighty team supports low-income individuals and families with access to basic needs supports, advocacy, financial empowerment opportunities, and parenting, employment, and life skills programming, from convenient locations in communities near you.

I got sunrise community center from a home care nurse and decided that, I need help that's what they are there for. I went to walk in hours. I filled out forms and waited, a little nervous but others were there for help too. They called my name. I got Emily, she was so nice. Got some advice and a place to start. Before I left I even got some groceries. Cool. This is what your community is for.

The advocates are helpful and explain options to help solve problems an individual is experiencing in detail and outline the steps needed to achieve a positive outcome. I have utilized the referral service for the food bank and various other resources and was never looked down upon or questioned about authenticity of my situation and the staff does not press too much which really helps the clientele keep some dignity when having to access these types of resources. Most have smiles on their faces when greeting you and appear genuine. I felt comfortable when visiting this office and recommend the services to anyone needing an advocate or the various services they offer. Thank you.
