Terrible. So terrible. We were offered Clifton when we were in need and a rush to get my father into assisted living and they had a bed immediately. Turns out there was a reason they have open beds. It's been a struggle with poor care, broad brush care, and lack of open communication from the staff. Examples, my father doesn't need to be wheeled into the mess hall for dinner because he can walk, but since the staff probably likes making it an assembly line they wheel everyone into the mess and\ hour early for some reason. So my father sits in a wheel chair in the dinning room waiting for an hour because they like wheeling everyone around and cannot apply individual specific care? Another example, staff come in late, and yet the 'weekly' shower/bath that an elder receives is sometimes skipped. A weekly bath isn't enough cleaning when someone uses diapers and has incontinence problems. The latest weekly bath for my father the staff couldn't get around to it on time that day and so he missed until next week. If I'm behind at my job I catch up but I guess that doesn't apply if an employee isn't going fast enough at Clifton. I don't know an adult that can go two weeks without a shower and not smell terrible. Somehow that's acceptable to provide poor care at Clifton. I'm not a fan of Clifton. I'd never suggest any of my friends take their aging parents here for long term care. I'd not suggest anyone in fact take their aging parents here.

Very poorly managed facility My grandfather use to be in there and the staff were terrible. He sat on the toilet for 30 minutes a few times being there. The staff also stole money from him multiple times. We moved him to a new retirement home with staff who respect him and who are also are more professional.

Mom was left in excruciating pain all evening and into the morning before being sent to hospital. There being she was left so long her leg had to be amputated. Employees confused her with another resident of the same name multiple times this caused her son to not be able to say goodbye to his mother. Some of her belongings were lost when we went to pick up, like a lift chair and paintings. Our mother suffered a cruel death and the manor showed very little compassion. The BFS way indeed

Do not put your loved ones care into this place. My brother was in there for 10 months and right from the on set things started to go wrong. I gave them the benefit of doubt and wish I hadn't. 90% of the staff are rude, they do not care. The place is dirty, meals are bad. Management is only concerned about their jobs. They lie and steal from the residents. They leave residents in soiled diapers and clothing all day long. When a call bell is sounded they ignore it. They allow a resident who touches others in their private areas to roam lose in their and do nothing about it. My lists goes on and on. They run out of meds at least 2 times a week. If you don't request that they give showers more then once a week, it won't happen. They open mail that they have no write to. They also circle around each other and deny any wrong doing. I have actual proof of them asking staff to lie for them, I have proof they give wrong meds to residents. I have proof the place is a pig pen. They leave your loved ones crying for help in the hall or their rooms.

My mother in law is currently in this facility. They take great care of her, better than we as family could. I agree the facility should be updated, AHS is in control of that not the staff & it definitely could look & smell cleaner. The staff are wonderful kind & caring individuals, especially Sharon! They do the best they can with what they have! Thank you for caring for my mother in law Clifton Staff?

My Step-Mother had dementia & my father cared for her as the illness progressed. She managed to escape their home and was found wandering more than once. Locks were placed on outside doors and gates. Social services were now involved and home care was in place, but very limited supports were given for her care. My father was told she would have to be moved to a home and the placement was in Clifton. They say no visits for family initially so the new resident can become accustomed to their new environment. The resident can then have home visits. Unfortunately this never occurred, she died soon after arriving. My father said the look in her eyes when she realized she would be moved to Clifton was heartbreaking. He talks about the guilt he feels. Another review mentions the furnishings, deplorable, no upgrades since it was built. Prisoners have it far, far better. Like others, I would give this facility negative stars if available. When she was home she would watch television and rock in her chair...my father would encourage her to eat. In Clifton she was in a shared room with strangers, the most depressing room I have ever seen. No one seemingly cared if she ate or not. She suffered a fall, how we were never told, and had a huge lump on her face. The hospital would not keep her and said she would have to be sent back. My father paid for extra care for her; take a look at her toe nails. Once in the system, people are treated with such indignities. My husband asks why I kept pictures of her bruised and unkempt, looks like it was for today, and now I can erase them from my cell. I am writing this in memory of her, she will always be loved and missed. Do not place your loved ones here.

We are shocked by the ignorance and neglected nature of the staff at this care home. My father (aged 92) was taken here 5 days ago and shockingly has had 2 falls. What surprises me is that the staff did not put any safety precautions in place after the first fall. He was very lucky that he remained in good health after the first fall. The second fall was simply blamed on him falling off the wheelchair, even though it is their responsibility to protect from such dangers. It was their responsibility to make sure that he gets more attention after the first fall. Anyone could have been sensible enough to know, for example, that placing a belt on the wheelchair would be so beneficial for protecting the patient from such falls. It really shows how irresponsible the staff is. After his second fall, my father was taken to hospital (through 911) due to severe bleeding on the forehead and had to have stitches done. He has been unconscious since then. I want to know what the point of paying this irresponsible and ignorant company is. Im also questioning why the government feels the need to support their business. Its not doing any good to anyone; only hurting more and more lives through their neglecting behaviour.

I accompanied a client and his family to this home yesterday for respite care. The conditions were horrendous and the experience left me shaken, and my client and his family traumatized. We couldn’t leave him there! That would have been neglectful. The room was gloomy, windows too dirty to see outside, and chair with caked-on food. The staff seemed unconcerned, callous, cold and indifferent. No one checked in on him following admission and recording his vitals. Food was over-cooked unappetizing fare. Pillows though were soft. There were combination locks on doors. This was textbook β€œwarehousing”. This place does nothing to enhance Brenda Stratford’s legacy. Shame on all of you for this travesty!
