Was told over the phone that the rental of a cement cutter for a half day was one price. When I returned the tool (on time) the guy behind the counter told me it was more than what I had previously been told. When I questioned him, he was rude and ignorant. He told me that I was wrong and that there was no way that I had been given such a quote. He made me feel like I was trying to rip the company off. He was incredibly rude and arrogant. Certainly not the way to treat customers, especially paying customers. I don't know if he was the manager referred to in the previous comment, but it sure sounds like him.

This visit was simply for some basic chainsaw supplies. Just a chain as I am no longer cutting commercially. A little home and farm maintainence, as well as a year's worth of fuel wood for supplementary home heat. Upon my arrival a friendly greeting as always. Upon my request for a very specific and considerably rarely used, I was informed in this area they generally do not sell so they are not a stocked item. However they were willing to get them in and stock them for me as they have before but there was other newer, less costly, and quite suitable chains for my needs. I purchased 5 chains "just to tryem." Further the bill was 40$ LESS than the one I originally thought I wanted. I have had one on about a week. I have cut approx. 5 face cord, some of which was pretty dirty. I Stihl haven't needed to touch it! It's Stihl performing as it did out of box. Very Very well! As always the atmosphere, and coversation were awesome, informational, historical, educational all in one. I highly recommend, whether you are a newbie, intermediate, or expert, personal or commercial use, if you are not using Stihl, you Stihl can perform better, and Stihl have a few things to learn. Good luck in all your work, a always stay safe!

I have had a couple of tool rentals from them over the years, and just got a stihl weed whacker. The guys had it ready when I showed up and took the extra time to run me through the basics features. Great as always!

Not very impressed with this location. I went there at 7:30 am to buy a new MS-170 Chainsaw. Within 5 minutes of using it at work the chain flew off, into the bush thankfully not my leg. I called this company and told them what had happened. Their response was it was my fault for not tightening the chain after 10 minutes, and that the bar oil was not their responsibility to make sure that there was some in it. As a STIHL provider, this company went completely against the STIHL policy of always using STIHL products, this includes their 50:1 mix for gas and their chain oil. The chain oil that got replaced out of it by LD Power Sports in Godfrey was a clear substance and very little in it to begin with. By taking my saw to LD Power Sports, my wife and I learnt that Rental Village had put the wrong chain on the bar all together. I will never purchase another item at this store again. I buy power tools to get work done not to have SERIOUS BLOWOUTS. Please be leery if buying products here as they WILL NOT take RESPOSIBILITY for THEIR ACTIONS!!!!!!

Beware their no returns after 7 days policy! If you buy a saw from these guys you better make darn sure you put it through its paces right away or you're stuck with it. Unaware of this I requested to return an "easy2start" saw a week and a half after I bought it, after finding that it was anything but "easy2start". I had only used it a total of 5 minutes (but had spent at least an hour and a half trying to start the thing various times, various ways over that week and a half). They told me too bad, my problem now not theirs. Now I'm looking at spending another $40 to replace the ridiculous starter mechanism with a regular one (not from Rental Village).

Website advertises insulated tarps for $79.99. I drive to buy them and then I'm told that it will be ~$115 each. I wanted to buy 4, that is about $150 difference when factoring in tax. What a terrible and dishonest place.

Poor help over the phone, so I went in to the store to show them the part I needed. They both struggled to find the part number, but when they found it they got the part to sell to me. But were resistant to show me how to find the part number for next time. I purchased the part, and then they said you can’t return this by the way. I left realizing I forgot another part, decided to just go out of my way to the Carleton Place one instead…

Great service, staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. They did not try to over sell me on anything, if fact the discouraged me from over buying. They explained all the features of my new tool. I highly recommend them.
