EDIT: This review refers to the Redrum Records located in New Westminster. I erroneously indicated that Redrum Records was a growing franchise, which has turned out not to be the case. The rest still applies! -- This location carries a great deal of Japanese imports, and seems to concentrate particularly on rock, pop, and new wave, though there is a healthy selection of jazz as well. Pricing is reasonable given the condition of the records, and quite thankfully the staff is quite friendly - any and all queries are answered to the best of the acting staff's ability here. Spacing in this store also helps to ensure that, if you are concerned over COVID-19, you can reasonably keep distance between yourself and other interested shoppers, as well as the cashier. If you're looking for newer releases in the New West area, this is certainly a good stop to check up on!

The New Westminster location has some really interesting pieces in their shop. Their prices are unbeatable and they have really friendly staff. So glad I visited this place. I highly recommend stopping by if you love to collect music and music memorbillia. You won't be disappointed!

Great record shop with great service!! My wife and I found several gems we haven't seen anywhere else, and even got a recommendation when checking out for another record we'd like based on our selection, and it was great! We'll definitely be back in soon!

Great staff, very friendly and helpful. Amazing vinyl finds here, great prices. We've bought more than a few records here and even the $4.99 ones perform very well. Visit often ?

I absolutely love this place. They had exactly the record I was looking for at all the local stores but couldn’t find, as well as all that band’s other stuff!!! Very good prices, as well as superb selection. Must visit.

Fine place for casual browsing but don't bother if you're a collector. They are 20-30% above retail and they have zero customer loyalty.

Redrum has kind/helpful staff and all three of their locations are clean and organized, especially by most record store standards. However, as someone that has visited all the record related stores I could find from Vancouver to Chilliwack, I did note a few things I was less than impressed with. Redrum marks their used albums above (typically 20-40%) other record stores in the area and typically prices above the Discogs median. New record prices are better, but not by much. This would be fine if the vinyl was superb quality, but it’s not. Albums are priced based on title, not condition. For example, The Eurythmics β€˜Sweet Dreams (are made of this) is $19.99 + tax, regardless of condition. Perhaps I’m missing something, but this seems out of line with the prices other stores (and Discogs users) charge for a standard 80’s pressing of this album. The exception to this is $1 and $5 records which are in ROUGH shape. I understand the concept of a bargain bin, but none of these albums are a β€˜bargain,’ they just can’t reasonably sell them at anything close to full price anymore. I’ve tried their online ordering system and been disappointed three times. One instance was an album that had been cleaned improperly and had thick residue leading to terrible noise when played. Credit is due though as they accepted this as a return. The other two times I had found albums I was genuinely excited about, but they informed me after ordering that there was an error in their inventory and they did not have the item in stock. The helpfulness and friendliness of employees, organization, plus other music related merch would make this a great record store… but I have just been disappointed each time I’ve actually considered purchasing a record here. Condition and price are the two key factors when purchasing a record - neither of which are stellar here. While one could argue for rarity as well, with the higher prices at Redrum, I might as well buy that Japanese pressing off Discogs and have some assurance over the condition.

This place is great! Found a lot of what I was looking for, prices were very fair so I was able to pick up a lot more records. The employee there, Dustin was very kind and helped me find some stuff and try out one of the records I was on the fence about. Definitely recommend dropping by!
