Real Property Management Central - Calgary

Didn’t like there dealing attitude.

Harold Shand and Bridgit Kong of RPM might be the absolute worst property managers in the history of property managers. They continued to take monthly fees from our account (sometimes taking 3 months' worth of fees in one month) - for instance, they took out fee for October a month or so in advance and we terminated them prior to October - now good luck to us getting a refund, does not respond to emails on a timely manner (could take up to a minimum of 3 weeks), does not pay bills on time (we were getting charged late fees and also got our power to our building cut off for non-payment), did not provide financials on time, they did not have a budget to present at our AGM BUT managed to show up to tell us they'll be increasing their fees! They were supposed to present a draft amendment to our by-laws but of course, nothing was prepared (they had over a year). If you ask about discrepancies in our account, Harold either says "we'll look in to it" and never hear back about it or he defers to Bridgit who either doesn't respond at all or plays dumb like she has no idea what we're talking about . We (speaking on behalf of the condo board) do not recommend them at all. I'm not sure if all of RPM operates the same way (I sure hope not). It has been an absolute nightmare dealing with these individuals who call themselves professionals and paying said individuals for services they charge for but cannot perform. It's been 3 weeks since we terminated our relationship with them and we are still chasing them for our corporate seal, refunds, and other documents. This behaviour is inexcusable. We tried to be patient and work with them even after we terminated the relationship just so that we can at least go our separate ways somewhat smoothly but it seems they just don't care. I cannot believe that someone can be THIS bad at a job/career. These individuals have no business running/managing a property management company. In all fairness, their broker Carla Browne has been very helpful and responsive and even she is appalled at the lack of service we've received from Harold and Bridgit so far.

Do not rent with this company. We started out with Real Canadian Property Management, which is no longer a company, and then midway through they switched to Real Choice Property Management Central. You WILL NOT get your damage deposit back with these people. Don't even bother cleaning or having the carpets cleaned upon move-out because it'll be a waste of your money. The company doesn't care about you. We are being penalized for damages we never created. Normal wear and tear doesn't mean anything to them, especially considering they never saw the place when we moved in. It's really disheartening dealing with this company.
