Never been to a speciality handmade udon place before, but if I ever have the chance to come back here on another trip to Toronto, I would definitely return! Ordered the eggplant and fried oysters for appetizers which were great, but the star was the udon with a very light, clear broth and the noodles having a great texture. Perfect if you’re not looking to have too heavy a meal, but plenty of delicious appetizer options to add-on as well!

This place only specialize in udon. They imported their udon from Japan. Very special and tastes great! The wait is a bit long for the weekend. Just get there ahead of time to be on the wait list.

This restaurant is super busy. I was there at 12:15pm and it was full by 12:25pm. The Chawanmushi was amazing. Each ingredient was well seasoned and fresh. The egg itself was so soft, and it tasted well balanced with all the ingredients. The udon was good too. The udon was tendered, however I found the broth was a bit too sweet and salty for me. Overall, it was a neat, cute Japanese restaurant with fresh ingredients made food.

The best hot udon noodles soup I’ve had! The light, clear broth is a perfect match for the bouncy udon noodles. The noodles have an incredible chewy texture and have a slight firmness to them. Would definitely try anything with their udon noodles in it! I tried the fried chicken app as other reviews seemed to rave about it. But I didn’t find it that special, and the chicken was a bit over fried as parts tasted nearly burnt.

Amazing restaurant on Queen street. It's a relatively affordable place with fantastic food! The udon is thick and smooth with a delectable broth, served in a very filling sized bowl. The ambience and interior design of this restaurant is also top notch. I'll definitely be coming here again!

Friendly staff! It was busy when we were there on Saturday but we didn't need to wait at all. We ordered the monkfish liver and karaage to start. Monkfish liver was entirely forgettable but the fried chicken was delicious. For mains we ordered the curry udon and tantan udon- both were very delicious! It comes with a lot of soup so we packed the broth to make noodles at home. Highly recommend this restaurant!

An authentic Japanese udon experience in Toronto. We were here at 5:15pm on Good Friday and happened to be no line up so we got seated immediately. Ordered edamame, agedashi tofu, Kitsune hot udon, Yamakake cold udon, and Sabazushi. Love love love the Yamakake udon (grated mountain yam, quail egg, and bonito flakes) simple ingredients with the chewy udon but have the best taste all together.

The food was so delicious. I had tried kimchi once before but it wasn’t till I tried it at Raku that I truly came to appreciate it. I do appreciate the fact that they have 3 vegan main options and they apps too! It was a great experience and the servers were so attentive and lovely. All the food came hot and fresh to our table and we loved every bit of it. It was a bit pricey but it is fair. The total ended up being about $100 for a dinner of 4 with apps and three mains but it was well worth the experience.
