Overwhelming selection of spices that you won't easily find under one roof anywhere else in Vancouver, as well as a wide variety of excellent chutneys from Aly's, which are not commonly found outside of Toronto. So many grains and flours. The produce section isn't huge, but it's very well-rounded. Prices for what you can find elsewhere tend to be significantly cheaper at Punjab Food Center.

I have lived in this neighborhood for over 10 years and always supported this little place whenever I could even if sometimes the products on the shelves are expired or sometimes the fruit and veggies are on their last legs. They have a great selection of teas and spices, as well as some really nice henna tubes, but after today I'm not sure I'll go back. I was blatantly being followed around the store like I'm going to steal. I understand the weariness for such a small family owned store and couldve let it go except for the fact that when I was checking out. After the lady at cash, same lady who followed me all around the store, had scanned all my items she asked if I had anything else, which I replied "No, that's it, thank you" and she kept insisting "oh maybe you have something in your bag" (I had a bag with two giant loafs of bread from a bakery one main street over and you could clearly see them). She gestured at me to take out "whatever else I had taken from this store" a few more times before she let me pay. This has left a really sour taste in my mouth and I personally wouldn't go there anymore. I'm not saying they're bad people or anything but this was my experience and to be profiled and insistent like that just doesn't feel great.

Pleasant owners and a great source for Indian groceries in Vancouver. Standard vegetables are also well stocked. A driving factor is their availability of good quality, bulk teas. If you're tired of the big Tetley boxes, head here. You can also find kitchen utensils that are smaller in size than Canadian tire's family sized collection - perfect for an individual.

A great locally owned Punjabi Grocery store! Great produce, and at very competitive prices. Needed to pick up some staple pantry supplies and easily available. I loved that they had traditional roti flour (atta) available in smaller portions!

Great store with everything you need for South Asian cooking. Lots of spices, large variety of beans and lentils in bulk, lots of pickles and chutney along with spice blends and ready to eat meals. Some special cookware and utensils as well. Some vegetables and fresh herbs, including curry leaves and fenugreek.

After more than 10 years shopping here I count on Punjab Foods for the best teas (Ahmad) and superb Himalaya Yoghurt. Curry leaves, fresh chili's and every spice you could ever need no matter what you like to keep in your masala dabha.
