I used to come here all the time and I loved it. But I feel like the food and service has just gone downhill since the last few times I have been. The service I feel like is always slow and the quality of food has really declined. Most recently, I came here on Mother’s Day and we waited so long to be even greeted by our server. When we went to use one of our napkins (the cloth rolled up napkin) there was hair inside of it. We were disgusted and unrolled the other 2 napkins to find hair wrapped up in those as well. I have photos of it but I am respectfully choosing not to post it. When our server finally came over I told her what we found and politely asked her to give us a few minutes to decide if we wanted to continue dining here and she took the napkins and just walked away. She didn’t apologize for the wait, which would have been nice considering more than 1/2 the tables were empty… and she didn’t apologize for all the hair we found in our eating utensils… We were so turned off by this experience we just left. So I guess in conclusion you can eat here upon your own discretion. Service is slow and not friendly, and the food is average (on the last times I have been here)

Food is good. Fish and chips, fish was crispy on one side but not the bottom as it was landed on fries that were hot and turned out a bit dampened. Service is not bad but... not good enough as very distracted and far from protection. When we arrived at the front, no one was serving. After waiting for 5 minutes, I had to go all the way deep into the restaurant to ask for one of the servers, as several of them walked pass me without addressing. The one who's supposed to be at the front was on the phone taking order while no one else was covering. The server was nice, however, when he was asking us for orders, one of us started, he said to give him a minute. He went taking care of some customers and back in about 5 minutes. That's inappropriate as it's not the correct way in serving customers. Totally distracted. All in all, below standard in service. Not acceptable.

I had such great service from 55 Bar AM M. She was so friendly and nice with a warm welcoming smile. The Valentine's dinner special I had with my husband was very good too!

I came here on a Tuesday evening prior to the new COVID-19 restrictions. It is located in the upper floor level of CF Markville mall. There wasn't much of a lineup and the place was nearly empty since it was the last day to dine in. I ordered the following: Caesar Salad ? This was part of a side dish which was included as part of the Spaghetti Bolognese. All pastas and steaks are served with your choice of start soup, Caesar or mixed greens salad. Their Caesar salad was pretty fresh and the croutons was filled with crunchiness. The Caesar salad dressing was amazing so I would give this dish a fire ?. Spaghetti Bolognese ? This is Pickle Barrel's signature tomato meat sauce made with Canadian ground chunk, plum tomatoes & spices. Normally the server would ask if you would like pepper and/or parmesan cheese for pasta dishes. I ended up requesting these items for myself instead. The spaghetti might appear small but once you start mixing, the portion size is big. Their spaghetti didn't have any visible white noodles so that is a plus. Each bite I took was delicious and I would also give this dish a fire ?. Soy Ginger Glazed Salmon ? This dish contains pan seared Atlantic salmon glazed and served on a bed of sautéed vegetables and brown rice. The vegetables were cooked perfectly. Their soy ginger sauce was legendary and when paired with the salmon, it makes a superb duo. If you are a fan of teriyaki salmon, you would definitely love this dish. I would say this was worth it ?. Say Cheese Cake ? A classic cheese cake with topping choice of strawberry or chocolate sauce. It is made-up from three components: a crust on the bottom, a filling in the middle and a topping. When I ordered this dessert, I requested for the chocolate topping. However, the server said it only comes with strawberry but he could add chocolate sauce to the side. When the cheese cake arrived, it came exactly what the menu had described so I wasn't sure where the confusion was. I tasted both strawberry and chocolate toppings before. If you are a fruit lover, definitely go for the strawberry topping. Opt in for the chocolate topping if you are a chocolate fan. This is one of their legendary dessert items on their menu. Each bite I took from top to bottom would send me heaven. That is going to get a 'WOW' moment ?. I would give both of these cheese cakes a ?. Overall, their service was pretty friendly and the ambience of the restaurant was alright. They are still open for take out and patio. I would recommend giving this place a try and I will definitely be coming back to try out more of their menu items.

Excellent lunch with parents March 9.its been a long past few years and we returned to dine here after some shopping. Our server was wonderful. He was attentive and helpful extra napkins or coffee and water for our teas. I had veggie burger and two salmon soy glazed rice for lunch.. Definitely will return the salmon was cooked perfectly not overdone and fresh fish please support local dining and tip servers well.

Haven’t been out for a while, it was really good. Though I like my fish and chip alittle more crunchy. But it’s still good. Overall great experience, servicer seems busy, but she is nice.

I came in on my own today and Deena was quick to greet me at the bar and ask for my drink. I ordered a white wine sangria and told her I had a few fruit allergies. She was very careful while making the drink and even cut me some fresh fruit. I ordered the grilled cheese and she suggested the house made tomato soup as it was her favourite. She is a great conversationalist and I enjoyed the company. Will definitely be back to this location.

I don’t know why the google review score is only 3. I would highly recommend this restaurant, as I myself came twice in one week. Relaxed music, polite and attentive server, especially Silvia T. She’s definitely a sweet angle for our birthday dinner. Each dish won’t disappoint you. We do enjoy food and relaxing time here.
