I really like the Sate Peanut Pho!! Recommend to try at this location! The environment is very clean and modern. The washrooms are ski very clean and big! There is an option to get a bigger size too! If you think you a bowl is not big enough you can order the large size !

This is my first time trying Pho City. I am vegetarian, so it is very difficult to find vegetarian Vietnamese food, so to see that they have a full section on the menu dedicated to vegetarian/vegan items makes it very easy for me to choose what I can eat. I had V38C Peanut Satay Vegetable & Tofu Noodle Soup and all I can say is: WOWw! So flavourful and perfect for cold days like today. I Upgraded to a large bowl for $2 more, and it could easily feed two people no problem! Customer service is also friendly andtop notch! I recommend Pho City to anyone staying or passing through downtown Calgary! ??

Huge portions of delicious food. Had the Satay Peanut Beef Noodle Soup and would rate it my top second choice for peanut satay (could be a little more peanutty). Wife had the Curry Chicken Soup which was also pretty good. I would recommend asking for your meat medium rare to rare as mine came pretty well cooked after mixing it to the bottom of my bowl. Finally, a minor detail but it was nice to see that the water is filtered.

This was delicious!!! The chicken broth was just what I needed, it’s just the bowl to warm you up and comfort you. The veggies, shrimp & chicken were super fresh, and the dumplings were amazing. I’m from Toronto but the next time I’m in Calgary I would come back here again for sure!

Staff is super friendly and kind. Restaurant is very clean! Ordered peanut satay bbq pho and chicken salad rolls! Super tasty and big portions. Following all public Heath restrictions which is a relief as some places don’t. Right in Chinatown, so it’s easy to get to via transit or by car. Thank you for making our first meal out in 2022 wonderful! We will be back too! Happy new year!

We went to Pho City specifically to tey the peanut sate pho, since we had heard many good things about it. The restaurant itself is clean, bright and newly renovated - a huge step up from the condition of the restaurant that was located there previously! It is conveniently situated in central Calgary on the edge of Chinatown, right next to the river. There is a paid parking lot just a block away which gives easy access to the restaurant. The menu has lots of great options, and a gluten free selection. We opted for a large bowl of the special noodle soup (40) as well as the beef and beef ball noodle soup (42), both with peanut sate added. We also got an order of the pork spring rolls (A1). The spring rolls arrived very quickly, and were piping hot, fresh and crispy. The filling was good (it was a fairly standard flavour in terms of pork spring rolls), with a decent ratio of filling to wrapper. The bowls of pho also arrived very quickly and were piping hot. The large was massive, and the regular was also a very generous size. We both agreed that the slices of beef were the most tender we had ever had in a bowl of pho - and we have been to a LOT of pho houses! The beef balls were fairly small, but tasted decent - again, a fairly standard flavour comparable to many other places. There was a generous portion of both meat and noodles in both bowls. The noodles were also cooked well and not overdone. The peanut sate itself was very tasty and already fairly spicy, with some nice chunks of peanuts in it. I found I didn't have to add too much sriracha to get it to my preferred spice level. The reason why I have rated the restaurant a "4" was the the broth itself was a bit disappointing. Although the peanut sate itself was tasty, we agreed the broth was just missing "something". I found it didn't have the usual dimension of flavour that I am accustomed to at my usual pho spots. Typically, with peanut sate pho, the broth is richer and almost "thick", however this broth had a bit of a watery feel to it. Overall it was still a good experience, with decent food and very friendly service.

Hidden small gem. Food is nicely portioned, affordable prices, I like that they use real chicken, not sliced cardboard tasting like other places . Simple and authentic seasoning. Definitely one of the best Vietnamese stops in the downtown core. I ordered the vermicelli satay chicken, very pleased. Wish it came with some fish sauce on the side, will ask next time.
