Pet land has almost everything you could need for your pets when I shop at pet land the staff are always friendly and knowledgeable they are always willing to help people if they need it

Poor customer service. Was in there today and no one around to help you, until you go to the till and all of sudden someone comes out. They must have cameras in the back to watch when they need to go out!!! over priced for sure compared to other pet stores!!

I would highly advise that you shop absolutely anywhere else for pets & pet supplies if you have any choice in the matter, ESPECIALLY when it comes to exotics. From store associates to the management level, this company doesn’t have a clue about proper animal husbandry, nor how to run a business. I stopped in one day for some supplies for my terrariums and to browse. I spotted a single White’s tree froglet in an enclosure falsely listed as a North American green tree frog, thus the care sheet provided and species information provided was also incorrect. When I brought it up to one of the associates that they mis-labeled the species, they assured me I was wrong. That in itself should have been a red flag, because regardless of whether you're a retailer or an individual, you should only be keeping animals you have the adequate knowledge to properly provide care for (that includes being able to correctly identify the species). Luckily Whites are a forgiving species; but not all reptiles and amphibians are and subtle inconsistencies in husbandry can be detrimental. If inexperienced keepers who don't know better were to purchase an animal and rely solely on the care instructions provided for a different species altogether... the outcome might not be so great. Anyway, despite my hesitations and after a few days of resisting the temptation to buy pet store animals, I decided I was going to buy the lonely froggo. I had to fill out a bunch of paperwork to ensure I was capable of caring for this animal (which again, I thought was funny considering they couldn’t even properly identify his species). They packaged him in a cardboard box, on paper towel (no moss or substrate whatsoever), and moistened it with chlorinated water... By then I was already very concerned about getting this guy home safely. I had a few other items on my bill and confirmed with BOTH the employee that packaged my frog, and the cashier, that we were β€œgood to go” at the till, because my frog box had no label, price or indication of any live pet inside. I paid by debit and left. The next day I got a voicemail from Petland stating there was a matter that needed to be discussed regarding my pet adoption. I called back and had the most unprofessional exchange with another employee in which she informed me that due to her coworkers' incompetence, I need to go out of my way and drive all the way back down to their Pembina location (I’m from Garden City) - because they β€œforgot to charge me for my frog". I couldn’t believe that a national chain business would actually request such a thing from a customer after the transaction had already been completed, and figured it had οΏΌto the teenage employees trying to cover their butts, but upon speaking to the store manager, NOPE, this is literally just how they choose to do business. Even though I was livid, I believe in doing the right thing so I did settle the bill and paid by credit card over the phone (I wasn’t going to spend $15 in gas to correct their error, though). After being cooperative and polite for the sake of doing the right thing (when I feel like I easily could have just told them it was their mistake and to go F themselves after such a horribly unprofessional experience), the manager I was speaking to told me, β€œI can’t provide you a receipt at this point but it’ll be on your records when you come into the store next.” No apology for the hassle, no thank-you for the cooperation, and definitely not a single gesture of gratitude or extension of customer service beyond tracking me down for their measly $50. Hope it was worth losing a longtime customer! Photos attached of my "North American Green Tree Frog" for reference. Haha.
