★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I need to return a halter that was too small for my dog. I live out of town so I made a point of stopping in while here. I had the receipt, it was within the return period, and product was in perfect condition.
I originally paid with my debit card. They refused to give me my money back because the last 4 digits of my card didn’t match those of the receipt. I only own one debit card. I explained this to the manager on duty. She said they absolutely could not refund my money and offered store credit. I offered to pull up the transaction on my bank statement to prove that it was in fact paid for with the very debit card I had on me. They would not accept this as proof. She also said that this was not the first time this had happened and it was more than likely a system error. If that’s the case, then this is a company issue, and not the customer’s fault. She should have made sure I left happy. I left quite angry. I will not be returning to this location. I am a GM in retail and I know what it means to just add a little joy to your customer interaction, I would have just done it, but explained that I was making an exception to the rule. There was clear proof of payment. I had my bank statement with my card number and the purchase history. This was just flat out unimpressive customer service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Love the managers. Always excellent customer service. My dogs were a bit shy when I first switched to the store, but now they drag me in waiting for a treat. No problems with any returns I have had to make. Recommend all my friends when ever they need food advice or a friendly community oriented pet store to shop at. Their fundraisers for the Gibsons wildlife rehab are fun and informative as well as their support for local rescues. A truly satisfied customer.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been a regular customer since this store opened and just can’t take the awful customer service anymore. Today was my last visit. One employee chats so much with customers that you end up waiting forever and the other treats you like you’re interrupting her day. There was one amazing store manager, young and friendly person who was great but it has been a steady decline ever since she left.

Our cashier Nick and the whole staff went above and beyond to help us dry our dog after the Pet Valu in Sechelt did not let us finish drying him. Easily earned a customer for life.
