Ada Pinho graduated in 2013 from Saskatchewan Polytechnic in Saskatoon, SK, as a Veterinary Technologist. She immediately started working for Winnipeg Animal Emergency Hospital, but after 5 years, she stepped away to work at a few different regular day practices. In 2020, she returned to work full-time at Pembina Veterinary Hospital and is enjoying the mix of emergencies and complex cases along with the classic elective surgeries, dentals and wellness exams. Having discovered she was a cat lady early on, Ada shares her home with her own cats, a husband, and has thrown herself into fostering kittens for various rescues, with a special interest in neonates requiring bottle feeding and more critical care. To help address the root of the problem, she also volunteers her skills and time with the subsidized neuter clinics of the CARE Outreach Program.

C	Ct crunch on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have used WAS several times over the yearas for many pets. Its been a mixed bag of good and bad mostly dependent on which vet is on and the techs. Most recent visit was okay. I prefer here over Bridgewater because they make you sit in your car for 3+ hours before being seen. Pembina atleast takes you in fairly quickly. For a true emergency, I recommend WAS. Cost wise, they are comparable to the other emergency clinics once you look at all the extra fees. Did not care for a tech I had tonight though, he was rude and told me to go back to my car to call to come in but their lines were busy. Like I was already at the door with my pet, why am I calling from the parking lot for triage? He then told me if my pet stopped breathing, I could bang on the door and we can discuss a DNR. uh no. They also said my cat wasn't showing any symptoms I discussed. Funnily enough, he was showing them as soon as he got back in the car and is still showing them hours later. They did xrays and exam and found nothing that warranted immediate intervention so it puts my mind at ease tonight and I can go back to our regular clinic. Its not cheap, but no clinic is and unfortunately pet ownership costs money. Also, covid is pretty much done with no masks required in places now so we should be able to go in with our pets, not have to wait outside. Hoping they didn't overlook anything on my cats health tonight.
J	Jasmine CM on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A friend of mine was forced to surrender her dog to the vet after seeking emergency care for an infection that required surgery. This is completely disgusting that a place that is meant to help animals would request thousands of dollars for a surgery with no flexibility and then when a person can't pay fully on the spot, they steal your dog and give it to the humane society against the wishes of the pet owner. DONT take your animal here if you don't have thousands of dollars in the bank ready to spend it without second opinion .
M	Mandy Bruce on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Brought my mom's dog there today. It was nice that we got in with short notice. My mom's dog was bleeding uncontrollably from a scratch on his elbow. He wouldn't stop licking it and it bled for 3 hours straight. Seriously should have gone somewhere else though, and will have to take him somewhere else. They bandaged it, didn't off any type of treatment or even a cone to stop him from chewing. The bandage came off less than an hour later and now we have to take him someplace else. This place was just a waste of money.
H	Haley Makar on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have had 2 really good experiences with this emergency vet clinic. They took really good care of my baby and were super kind and patient and professional with me. Both times were for inducing vomiting cause my dog likes to eat things that aren't safe for her when no ones looking. I know this is something I could accomplish at home but I'm too afraid to and they still took me in today even though they seemed so busy and I'm just really grateful for that. It's scary not being able to go in with your pet but I know my dog came out totally happy and comfortable even after what must have been an uncomfortable experience. Thanks for taking care of Anna

A friend of mine has to surrender her pet to the humane society because their Golden Retriever needed life saving emergency surgery and quoted them an insane amount of money that they couldn’t afford. The only other option the vet gave them was to surrender the dog to humane society! That is such disgusting behaviour. No payment plan option or anything! Just pay or we take your dog away! The person they talked to was extremely rude. Of course they are doing the surgery cause they want to save their pet. Avoid this vet! Even if it’s more cost effective. Bridgewater staff are a lot more friendly and accommodating!
D	Domanick Pennell on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’m not usually the type to post reviews but after reading some of the negative reviews for this place I have a feeling that people mostly write reviews when they are upset and many of the good experiences are not written. My puppy had parvo and when I brought them in they were taken immediately and treated. The were super friendly and caring from drop off to pick up. I loved my experience with this clinic and was super happy with how they kept me informed during my puppies stay. My only reason for removing a star is because on the vet bill they left instructions for care once my pup was home and upon speaking with the clinic later, one of the instructions was incorrect, silly mistake but I wish I was informed properly about something so serious. All and all I enjoyed this vet clinic, they saved my babies life and I’m forever grateful.

I first started bringing my pets there when we were faced with an emergency situation and have brought them there ever since. Even though there are closer places to my house, I so appreciate their service, professionalism, and all around amazing care they give to my animals. I recommend them to everyone I know who has a pet because I just can't say enough good things about them. Amazing and so greatful for the entire staff there.
K	Karen Reynolds on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My husband and I were really impressed with the supportive care our family received after we bought a 2nd dog (who was rehomed on Kijiji). Our 4 year old black lab was not adapting well to the new family member with several dog fights taking place, one being serious enough to require surgery. My family was so distraught about the situation and didn't want to rehome our new dog again and was willing to put in the work to make sure everyone was safe and loved. We sought out a dog trainer and heard Pembina Veterinary Hospital had a Behaviourist on site. The staff and Dr. Anseeuw were the absolute best !!! Dr. Anseeuw was not our regular vet, nor was Pembina our normal veterinary clinic, but she helped us work through and understand the mind of an alpha dog and took the time out of her busy schedule to provide us with tips, staying in touch by email and asking us to share videos of the dogs so she can better understand the issue and clarify what was needed. It has been 9 months with both of our beautiful dogs, there is still the odd scrap but we have established alpha in our house and it has made life more peaceful and safe for both our dogs. Thank you to Pembina Veterinary Clinic and thank you so much Dr. Anseeuw for your kindness, your expertise and most of all your love of dogs. You helped us immensely !!
