★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unnecessary repairs and overpriced. Problem didnt get fixed. The noise came back the next day. After my mechanic looked again, this was the issue of vacume line. They do have good communication and customer service, but the repairs are unnessary and expensive.

I Brought my vehicle in -30 weather to get my thermostat changed as the thermostat valve was stuck open providing more coolant to the engine that was not needed as there was no flow regulation to the block thus no heat in the vehicle. Neil and his team were great at fixing the issue and replacing the thermostat. I diagnosed the problem and they changed the thermostat as intended. I was happy.
2nd time. I needed brakes replaced as they were wearing down. I also told him that I needed a flex hose replaced as it was leaking exhaust fumes. Neil and his team replaced my flex hose and brakes for my vehicle in addition to removing the lug nut keylock that lakehead motors failed to provide. It was agreed upon that they do a tire rotation free of charge since my tires were already off my vehicle. Only problem is in the 2nd time they charged me labour for my diagnostics/troubleshooting when I already did the trouble shooting for them. I explicitly told them to replace the flex hose thus I feel like it was unfair to charge me labour for diagnostics. Overall they get a 3.75/5 for professionalism. If they reimburse me the diagnostic labour charge pertaining to the exhaust leak they earn my future business and get a 5/5

Was contacted by Payless Automotive after for a retorque after driving 100km. Everything was corrected and taken care of 5/5. Great Job!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Upon a recommendation from a friend, in the fall of 2018 I went to Payless Automotive Centre to have a vehicle inspected which I was considering buying at the time. Jason and his staff at Payless did an extremely thorough analysis and told me what would need to be done, how much it would likely cost me, and what I should pay for the vehicle should I choose to buy it. This analysis was done at a fair and reasonable price. I did not purchase that car, but what I did get was a GREAT automotive repair shop where I can bring my vehicle to have all of its mechanical needs taken care of at a fair and reasonable price. Jason, Lucy and the entire staff are extremely professional and friendly, and any work I get done is performed fast and right the first time. No going back a day later to say it hasn't been fixed. Payless Automotive Centre is a hidden gem of a car repair shop tucked behind Memorial Avenue on Fort William Road across from Food Warehouse. It is well worth a visit for your ailing car's needs.
