Please do not go to this location if you are not travelling in 2 days max. Poorly organized. Security guard have no care. The north york office is better organized with different lines for things and the security guards are understanding. People are lining up from 3am

Submitted passport renewal application for my daughter at Scarborough office on May 10th. Reached there at 9am and joined the queue without knowing that it was only for urgent requests, security lady was checking the tickets if person has flight in next 24 hours then she was answering otherwise she told that maximum capacity reached to 120 (I think) and you have to come at 1:30am (wow) to join the queue then I asked I need normal passport renewal then came to know that there is another queue on other side :) then joined that long queue around 9:30am and waited around 2.5 hours and went inside the building and finally at 12pm reached to the counter and she verified all my documents and entered my name in the queue then asked me for wait, after 30 minutes then my name was called and very nice lady processed my application and all done in 15 minutes and got the mail out date for June 6th. Whole process took 9am - 12:45pm in my case. After watching news and reviews, I was expecting to go 2 or 3 times but everything was done in 3hrs45mins. It was not a bad experience. It took 2 hours more than normal day processing and that should be acceptable in huge backlog.

Had booked an appointment for a passport over a month ago. In and out in 45 mins with expected delivery date 15 days from today. Mensah, the security person was amazing. I did not appreciate how people were being rude to her as a lot of it is out of her control. If you do not have an appointment, go super early.

Please hire more staff! Fire employees who don't want to come to the office! Fyi, you are getting paid by our TAX money! I went to get a passport, but the line was so long!!! At 9 AM, the line-up was almost around the building. What made it unacceptable was the waiting time of 6-7 hours which meant I wouldn't be served since the office closes at 4 PM. I asked about the line-up, and one of the staff said many of our employees are working from home due to COVID and I should've been there a couple of hours before the opening. Based on the line-up, that meant around 4 AM. How ridiculous!!! How about making your staff work at the office instead of their homes so the line moves quickly and people don't have to line-up hours before the opening. NON-union/government workers go to theirΒ offices to do their job and make a positive difference in people's life. It's time for unions/government workers to think the same way instead of wasting our time and TAX money! Stop making excuses! COVID is an everyday fact of life, same as other sicknesses, and it will last for the next 10 years or so. Please layoff the staff who should provide in-person services but are so in love with their homes that they are not coming to work. I wish there were NO union, or we had a better staff performance review at government offices so workers who refuse toΒ provideΒ in-person services for jobs requiring in-person attendance could be fired immediately. And let's not talk about the overbooked/broken appointment system!

The worst passport office or worst service Canada office.no chairs, people are sitting on the ground. Line starts early in the morning. Taking appointment only but system doesn’t work. Can’t book appointment. Parking is very expensive. I think they do that purposely Sotheby’s can make more money. Every where is appointment not available. Want early passport can’t get it. Even you pay the price for urgent. Cold floors no carpet, they don’t even feel shame.

People are lining up here overnight every night for urgent passport renewal. If you are not traveling within 15 days you are probably wasting your time as you will not be seen. Most people in line were traveling within 2 business days. Some people had suitcases with them and had to travel later that day. In other words, do not make your travel plans until your passport has been renewed, otherwise you will be in for a lot of stress. If you must come and line up, be ready to stand outside for hours without seating. We arrived at 6am and did not get into the building until 10am.

I read all the recent reviews, and need a renewal for my childs expired passport. We fly out in 5 days so I came to this location at 7am. The line at 7am was already past 120 people. I didn't get to the front door until 10:30am. There was a security guard, red hair and she requested proof of people with flights on that day. This office didn't inform me that I need to come back here to get my kids passport renewal the day before or the day of our flight? Insane. The guard has rules to keep, but they should be realistic. We came to the office and waited 3-4hrs to avoid last minute stressful events with our kids. No sympathy for the public, my mistake was to come here and I'll have to come again. People line up real early so be prepared to wait 4-5 or even 6hrs.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: 1: NEVER mail in your original documents ( birth certificates, citizenship, ect.) Take your documents to a Service Canada office and they will take a copy. 2: Always take with you a second complete application! (with guarantor and references signed, birth certificate, citizenship, ID and photos signed and ready), Do Not Believe Anyone who says they have your application. An application transfer is Not guaranteed, when they say "Your application transfer was accepted" it doesn't always mean that they now have your file, it can also mean that they only accepted the request, but your papers haven't been scanned and sent to them yet. 3: If your planning to go to the office make sure you arrive Very early (8:30 a.m or earlier), wait times are Very long! We arrived at 8:00 and was only able to see someone upstairs to complete our file at 3:30. If you arrive later you might not have enough time to go upstairs to complete your application or pickup your passport. 4: The Emergency Weekend Service aren't always able to help you, they must have access to your file and the service will cost you an additional $350.00 per passport. Hope these information are helpful.
