★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ive been shopping at independent for years and generally it’s pretty good. Until i get home and find out my online order of beef expires tomorrow and is literally old brown beef i would never purchase wrapped in bright, red, fresh beef.
There was zero notice that the food would be both expiring tomorrow and disguised.
For a business raking in the profits this is insane.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Chicken Nuggets are the yummiest and Potatoe wedges are awesome. Anything love bough there has been great and yummy. TQ for you great products. A little pricey but excellent products especially the meats..

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went to the pharmacy where we met Ivy and Lilian and Mar at the pharmacy . Felt like an old small town pharmacy . Pleasant and friendly and welcoming. Have not had that in a long time. Will definitely be back to shop here as well .

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's got everything but its your typical loblaws bs where its upsell in order to save. Deli is very unorganized, slow service, unfriendly service. Bakery has nothing, but meat dept always has lots. 2 stars is fair.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've lived in North Bay for just over a year and I frequently shop at independent. My daughter who has lived in Trout Creek also shops here. She was there today and her 3 year old son (1 of 4 kids) had a meltdown in the store. She was quite embarrassed and was in tears as she worked on getting him into the car. While she was doing so, the owner of Independent showed her kindness including a hug and helped her with her groceries. He is such a kind and thoughtful human being. It brought me to tears and thankful there are still kind souls out there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stopped in for lunch. Got the chicken strips and potatoe wedges, come with a sauce. Awesome job people. Wedges were crisp on the outside and almost fluffy on the inside. Chicken was great. Nice breading and I would have to say it was juicy.
Only sad part is paying $0.75 for a bottle of water when you can get a case for a couple of bucks.
Now it may not look like much for lunch but the picture is of my leftovers. It came with three strips this size or bigger then top up the box with wedges

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lost my business now .. not a store if your first nation they like to follow u around like as if u robbing the place call the big company once they change security now.. now it happen to my wife yesterday and this was our go to store but now it's happening again I won't be going back ... here a photo of ther first security they had before they change

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have been a customer of Parker's Independant Grocers since moving to the North Bay area 12 years ago. Since the pandemic I have been totally impressed with staff at this Grocery Store. Their extra work of sanitizing and monitoring customers has been phenomenal while maintaining their smiles and friendly attitude. I personally have been assisted by many staff members from check out clerks to bagging clerks, store shoppers, stock personnel, meat department staff, deli counter staff right up to Manager. I do not know all of their names but I do know that I have been looked after by most of the staff over the years. All have been very friendly, courteous and professional. To the management of this Store, I sincerely hope you are aware of the treasures you have among your staff and hope you will let them know . Thank you all for protecting us through the pandemic. You are among the Front Line Workers who deserve credit for caring and doing your job so well.
