Purchased a 2006 Subaru Forester in February 2019 from Auto Valley Auto Sales dealership off of 259 Paul Martin Drive, Pembroke. Upon picking up the vehicle, I realized I would need to fuel up to get home. I asked where the fuel door lever was? Dealership associate found the lever, whereupon the actual fuel door would not open. Two associates later the fuel door was opened and an understanding of repair being placed into the hands of my family’s mechanic was agreed upon, but at the dealership’s expense, on a hand shake. Our family’s mechanic quickly repaired the fuel door, and while the vehicle was on his hoist, noticed a fuel leak that could not be overlooked. Please note, the vehicle had had a Safety by the dealership’s mechanic (Deep River location) and was still within the days allotted for the Safety. In consultation with the dealership, this expense would be paid by them. The fuel leak was repaired. 8 months later, October 18, 2019, the bill had still not been paid by the dealership. Numerous times my family’s mechanic reached out to the dealership for payment only to be left, ‘holding the bag’ … unpaid. In the last two weeks, our mechanic reached out to my wife and I for assistance in getting paid. I did, and I too was left ‘holding the bag,’ after being assured that an associate of the dealership would ‘ be out to Calabogie [Tuesday following 2019 Thanksgiving] to resolve that invoice one and for all.’ Again, no payment even after providing the phone number, as requested by dealership associate, as well as providing a email address for the purpose of paying via etransfer to our mechanic. With all of this said, disappointed in how all of this has transpired. These are the facts and I have not even mentioned how I had to ask for the CARFAX statement post sale … a sheet of paper that stated that the car had been in an accident. This is why I have rated the dealership at a 1 star out of 5. My wife and I are crossing our fingers on this vehicle and wish all of the best to this young fledgling Used Car Dealership in the Ottawa Valley.
