Been using Ontario AV for years. We are a pro theatre and touring production house with high end equipment, not home stereo gear. Their turn around time is great, but as with anything you can run into problems with suppliers. If the manufacturer doesn't have parts in stock you can be waiting for awhile. Rick and the guys do a great job keeping you informed as to what is happening in the supply chain.

Beware of Ontario A/V technicians, aka sweet talkers / con artists. Customers talk about 2-3 week turn around estimate time, but waiting 2-4 months? Well in my case...I paid $260 for replacement parts, waited 9 months (not weeks)! Promises, promises. Excuses after excuses. Only to find out that unit is still not fixed. They mis-diagnosed the problem and had a nerve to return the player as "fixed". It went back to the shop very next day under "warranty". Communication and follow up with the store is almost non-existent. You have to be on top of them all the time. Today, I picked it up again after 7 months (not weeks) Not a joke! The technicians finally admitted that it is not repairable. Yes, they actually replaced some parts, but when I got home now the HDMI output doesn't work at all. Probsly wrong part again. Basically, my 2K universal player is only worth the aluminium &plastic it is made of. Didnt as for money back...I just will NEVER deal with them again. Do yourselves a favor: Save your nerves and money. Take any broken electronics elsewhere. Zero stars from me, sorry Rick.

Rick and his team are talented and can fix pretty much anything......timing is not always on point. It seems it’s pretty easy for something get on the β€œback burner” so make sure to stay on top of your repairs with phone calls - emails are to easy to ignore Great work, decent service but communication could use some work. All and all a solid company that stands behind their work - they are super busy all the time so that tells you they are good at what they do

Rick and his staff provide excellent and reliable service. I left one of my amplifiers ( a Crown CTs 600 ) with him during the Christmas rush which is a very busy time and had to wait quite a while but it was well worth it. My amplifier is as good as new and likely improved as many weaker spots on the circuit board have been hand soldered ( in contrast to the original wave soldering ). I am very satisfied and will definitely be using his services in the future should the need arise.

Rick & his team did an excellent service job. Due to high demand and being as gifted as they are expect a little wait in good faith. You won't be disappointed by the quality of the service and standard of care that goes into the repair. Rick is super friendly and patient. Give Rick a chance and know that he is honest and working hard. Rick and his team provide excellent service at the end of the day, My brother's device is running as good as new. Well done team and keep up the amazing work!!!

Purchased a turntable with my Air Miles and a channel was dead. Contacted Air Miles, they said to contact the manufacturer. Contacted the manufacturer and they said to contact Air Miles. Neat. On their website was a list of companies who service their products. Called Rick and he took care of everything. Turntable works great now. Highly recommend!

So my stereo and my vinyl LP collection are my greatest hobby. I don't travel, I drive an 18-year old car, no fancy dinners...minimalist. But I love stereo sound. My Marantz amplifier broke - the remote control would no longer turn it on. I didn't expect it to be a big repair and really, it wasn't. This amp if my baby. I don't surrender it easily. I brought my amplifier to this place in Brampton and it is like an organized chaos only they can figure out. It was packed with stereo gear everywhere. They were even so nice to lend me a loaner amplifier I could use while my amp was getting repaired. I figured, at the least, I had some collateral with me in getting my amplifier fixed. I was fifty-fifty on this place. My initial impression wasn't great. The amplifier was fixed, it took a few more phone calls than I wished. I returned to pick it up with some trepidation. I only hoped it would work well. I snapped a few pics I'm posting not sure at the time I'd be even posting a positive review. I hooked-up the amp and gave it a quick test listen at low volume and all seemed okay. Still no Google review until I really made this thing sweat and made those Klipsch speakers move some air. And do you know what? They fixed everything wrong with it. It even works emitting less heat than it did before. I cranked Au Pairs "Live In Berlin" and Jane Munro's bass just reverberates in your chest! Burning Spear "Marcus Garvey" and Black Uhuru "Sinsemiia" topped-off the list of test records. This amp has never performed this well. They did a good job and I'm thankful. It's not a cheap repair by any means but they have 900 appliances in there for repair so they're busy. And if they were a disreputable organization they simply wouldn't be that busy. Oh, I almost forgot - they back their work with a ONE YEAR WARRANTY! Who does that any more? All in all, yeah, they could have fixed the amp sooner, and yeah a million calls later and I never have the repair ticket on me so they have to look me up by surname to tell my amp still wasn't ready...but Holy Moly they fixed it and they fixed it working better than when it was new! Good job. Money well spent. Thank you.

These folks rebuilt a vintage 1975 Marantz 4240 amp and Sony turntable. This was a labour of love for them and me. It required finding parts overseas and took over nine months. It was well worth it. Nick Drake and Led Zeppelin never sounded so good.
