The Vancouver Convention Centre and PavCo are lighting it up between 6:00 and 9:00 p.m.. During Vancouver's Olympic and Paralympic Games in 2010 there were two Olympic torch cauldrons in the city, Symbolic lighting of the 2010 Olympic Cauldron to honour Team Canada competing in Tokyo

Beautiful place to visit, with some historical sports importance. Unique design for an Olympic Cauldron. Many other pieces of art and other displays in the immediate vicinity. Beautiful views of the waterfront and the North Shore mountains included for free! Overall one of the nicest must-see places if visiting downtown Vancouver

Thousands upon thousands came to see the majestic Cauldron lit during the 2010 Winter Games. And with the Games now complete, it remains as a permanent landmark on Jack Poole Plaza. At 32.8 ft (10 m) tall and set against a beautiful mountain and harbour backdrop, the Cauldron continues to attract visitors and locals alike. More importantly, it’s a reminder of our city’s extraordinary Olympic experience and demonstrated ability to host large, complex, international events. The Cauldron was provided by FortisBC through a legacy investment and partnership with the Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic Organizing Committees.

Work was being done at the time of our stop. It seemed like more could be done with this space, but maybe not the right time of year. We liked the orca too.
