★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Came here to echo the sentiments of everybody else - kayaking with these people is worth it. Brad and Shail were our guides for five days and nights and each one was a beautiful surprise. Ask them for a sunset session with whales and orca, surrounding you with their breathing. A unique place to be, if you made it this far, make sure you go.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ amazing experience! the kayaking was beautiful and tailored to our level of experience, and the campsites were absolutely incredible. Also definitely the best meals I've ever had camping (pizza, cookies, salmon...) - 100% would recommend!! Having the tents already set up and being able to relax on a hammock once you get to the campsite is pretty special

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such an amazing trip!! Marc and Tristan were our guides and were awesome hosts. The camps we stayed at were lovely, and the lookout at our second site had a great view of whales and SO MANY porpoises going by. The food was top-notch as well. Highly recommend this experience for anyone looking to explore the North Island. Just remember to bring rain pants, mine were essential!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Just back from a perfect 4 day trip with our amazing guides Vince and Thuom. From the first meeting everything was friendly, fun and professional. High quality, new equipment - everything from the kayaks and paddling jackets to tents and oh so comfy thermorests at base camp. Base camps are well equipped, we were thrilled to arrive at each one. Oh and the food - delicious - with a lot of care to make it fresh and interesting even packed in a kayak hatch!
We had a variety of weather and paddling conditions, our guides made sure we were properly equipped for conditions each day and safety was always number one priority. Their knowledge of local water conditions, as well as local wildlife and history was amazing. And yes, we got to see 3 humpbacks, a mom and calf plus another one getting up close and personal off our sterns in Blackfish Sound, a truly once in a lifetime experience. Dolphins, porpoise, bald eagles in abundance, sea lions, seals, sea stars, urchins.
But mostly the guides made our whole, very diverse group feel welcome, safe and comfortable and that we all had a fantastic time. Can't wait for my next trip!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went on a wonderful 3 day 2 night trip with Mateo and Shail as our guides. They were both so hardworking, patient and fun. They made it a great experience for everyone on the trip - no matter their interests or level of experience. We learned about the local wildlife and had many opportunities to see porpoises, seals, whales and even a pod of orcas. Our guides brought extensive knowledge about the local flora and fauna and answered our many questions. The food was next level - pizza, salmon, breakfast burritos, etc. The base camps were comfortable - roomy tents, thick sleeping pads, sheltered dining areas and even heat lamps at one site for chilly nights (!!!). I would recommend North Island Kayak to anyone looking for a kayak trip where you can let the professionals sweat the planning/prep and you can just paddle and enjoy your vacation without any stress.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Such an incredible experience with an amazing crew. Did the 3 day kayaking trip and just had a great time.
Physically it wasn’t bad at all. Food was so good, they really outdo themselves in this aspect. Scenery was stunning. The guides were super knowledgeable and a joy to be around.
Highly recommend this trip to anyone and will be taking family here when they come to Canada.
