I know there is some amazing staff at Emerg but my Grandma was treated horribly. She arrived at the hospital by ambulance because of her heart. Yet, she was left to her own regard for a lot of the time, hardly ever being checked on, the nurse was rude to her, and finally after hours of being in an isolated room my Grandma asked if she could have a bite of food and water. She is 88 years old! When her heart came back down, a nurse just pointed the direction out to her and didn't even offer her a wheelchair! She was so weak she could barely walk and a family member was not allowed to be in there to help her!!So sad to treat an older person like this.

Great experience. My little one had a cut on his lip that I was worried required glue or stitches or something. Staff very attentive, wait was only 30 mins. My 14 month old was happy with the experience and didn’t cry once. Lip healed nicely and will definitely be back the next time we have an β€œowwie”.

They need new doctors and proper equipment. For the doctors, They should send someone undercover to see how the staff really acts and assess the pill the doctors are prescribing and perhaps that would aid the growing drug problem in the city. But that's aside from the point. Back to my point; perhaps have the proper doctors on duty. Campbell river is a retirement community to hear they don't have heart monitors and people have to travel all the way to Victoria full treatment that's cruel. I went for heart problems and was told, "the doctor was off for the weekend" and denied care. In fact they like to deny care a lot. Fun fact that's illegal! If they do this to you, request that they put a note on your file that they refused to treat you and why they refused or are unable too preform treatment. Watch how fast they give you that test, If they say they don't have the equipment request that that is also put on your file. This incompetence is pathetic in a semi-retirement community to not offer proper care or resources. From my experience and what I've seen, someone in there is so crooked they'd rather let people die and write prescriptions to profit than actually treat the many problems I've addressed. It's sad to say but I would rather travel to Nanaimo and risk dying on the trip there than go back to this place.

The "ambassadors" are a piece of work. My medical is none of their business yet they insist on knowing what you are there for. When I refused to tell them and I knew where I was going and what was required of me they became extremely rude. I believe these so called "ambassadors" are on a power trip. Nurses snd doctors were absolutely awesome.

Friendly staff, clean hospital. Be ready for a long wait. Tiny emergency parking lot. The main parking lot is the other end of the hospital. Extremely inconvenient for people that cant walk far. Waited for over 3 hours as i watched other people that came after me with injuries that require a band aid and they got to go infront of me.

I went into the Emergency Department of the Campbell River Hospital due to a fall where I hit the back of my head. I was suffering a loss of short term memory, lack of concentration and headaches. The hospital staff were wonderful. I was put in a separate room for observation and testing. There were short periods when they were quite busy, but I did not feel abandoned, as they needed the results of the tests I had undergone. I was comfortable and the surroundings were incredibly clean, so I felt safe. After an MRI a warm blanket was put over me and I almost fell asleep. Once all the testing was complete the doctor (after looking over all my tests) let me know all was well, although I did have a concussion. He gave me information on recovery that assured me that my symptoms were common, and I would recover. Thank you hospital staff.

Came in with a broken wrist. One of many last weekend. The wait was long, but that was to be understood. The doctor who set my wrist and the anesthesiologist were very good at keeping me calm beforehand. I had to return the next day for surgery to pin the bone. Again the ER nurses were attentive, keeping me supplied with pain meds. The surgeon and his team were awesome, explaining everything. The recovery nurses were very nice and funny (even if my surgery kept them up late.) :). Following all the instructions and with the medication, my recovery so far has been tolerable.
