Highly recommended. 4 different mechanics looked at my truck, finally got it into Downtown auto, $23 in parts and 1 hour later the issue was fixed. Lesson learned, wait if you can and get it in to Downtown Auto.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Service is great here. The front line staff are professional and knowledgeable. They listen, explain, accommodate, and just generally provide excellent customer service. The shop incorporates a lot of digital technology and uses it to communicate with clients and provide records. Inspection reports are provided with pictures, descriptions, videos, web links. Ive been to this shop for regular maintenance and for a few odd duck repairs for which they’ve gone above and beyond. All in all, the staff here care and show a true commitment to providing good service. I highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely fabulous service ! Car got hit whilst on holidays and they were able to accommodate us that afternoon and have the truck back to us the next day , they made our steering safe and allowed us to continue on our holidays and travel back home safely !
Wonderful service , very kind and fabulous staff !

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I took my car into the shop after it began overheating. Upon picking my car up after it was worked on, I was informed that a pressure test found a faulty radiator cap to cause the overheating. I was also told that the car was taken for a drive through some hills as a secondary means of making sure everything was working correctly.
Unfortunately after getting back on the road it became clear that the cars overheating issue wasn’t fixed with the new cap. However, that didn’t stop DA from helping me out and upholding their reputation as a trustworthy and honest company.
Even though my issue wasn't resolved by DA, they still took care of me as best as possible and if I'm ever broke down in Nelson again, I know where ill be heading. Thanks again DA

They have a great system in place that makes it easy to understand what needs to have work done. They take photos, videos and descriptions of the areas that need work.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ When my vehicle broke down while moving, Downtown Automotive were able to provide me with a complementary inspection, a very professional report of the issues inclusive of pictures and diagnostic explanations, and did background research around warranty coverage that I would not have had the background or expertise to do myself. They went out of their way to help me navigate the complexity of the issue and at the end of the day, the bill was very reasonable. Highly recommend them!
