R	RJ “Knownoncents” Morgenhauser on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I’m retracting my previous review of Peggy at My Dog Spot. There was an incident with my dog while trying to take him into her grooming salon. My dog is very reluctant to go in with plexiglass halfway down the door and expects clients to bend over, pass the dog under the plexi... while trying to do so, my dog panicked, slipped out of his harness and ran onto Pape Ave. After watching the entire incident, Peggy said nothing, did nothing and couldn’t understand why I was upset with her exchange set up. She was kirt and and completely unsympathetic. It is unsafe and makeshift. The previous time she called just after I had drop him off to say he was barking and whining... he’s a dog and upset, that’s what some of them do. Peggy is all smiles but is very particular and difficult with appointments. Rarely if ever picks up the phone and has endless reasons and explanations of why she’s running her business by the seat of her pants. When things go awry, she gets very defensive. I will NOT be going back and don’t need any explanation from her.

I've owned a dog walking service in Toronto for 14 years, owned the same dog for 15.5 years and now own a shop for dogs in the west end. I went through many groomers in his first few years and then I found Peggy and My Dog Spot. Nowhere near my home, but worth every second of the drive. Peggy cares so deeply for the dogs in her care, and most importantly, she puts their safety above all else. If you haven't been to this shop yet, please know that there are no back rooms and no walls to hide behind. The dogs are safely double gated away from the storefront area, but all the work being doing is visible from the street or from behind the counter. That, to me, speaks volumes. I would never go anywhere else. Oh, I suppose I should mention that he always looks perfect too!!
