★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We discovered this jewel by accident over a year ago upon moving to the old East York area and fell in love with the authentic food and the heart they put in the dishes.
For real, this food comes from the heart, and enjoying it sitting on the table outside, during the summer time, while listening to some relaxing music and feeling the aroma of the jerk chicken being slowly cooked, takes you far away from the city. Practically to the beautiful Jamaica itself.
The joyful spirit from both Mr Steady (I'm guessing here, since I haven't asked him his name, but will do, next time I visit) and the young woman that's always there, brightens anyone's day.
Love this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We got one of everything on the menu after walking by Steady’s since we moved to the area a couple of months ago… I wish we didn’t wait so long! Everything was beyond. The jerk chicken is an incredible balance of sweet, spicy perfection. The stew chicken is a flavour explosion… the soup special was soul warming. This kind of food could only come from a place of love and that’s what you feel as soon as you walk in. The owner is so kind and warm and his personality reflects directly to his outstanding food. Big respect!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Holy this place is on point! The food is so delicious and fresh. I had large jerk chicken and I inhaled it when I got home. Meaty, tender, really good jerk flavour. I'll definitely be returning. The man that served me was very kind and generous as well. Much love and highly recommended

Always meaty and tender, the seasoning is flavourful not just spicy like most jerk places, and the portions are generous. The man that works there is so kind and has a beautiful energy. I love this place and it's my only choice for jerk ???
I want to edit my review because I saw another review mentioning the man not being friendly and the food being expensive. Everything today is expensive. This place gives big portions for the price. Also, customer service is a hard industry to be in. You can't be bubbly and happy all the time, even if you are the owner. It is ideal, but it can't happen 24/7. Have some understanding. You have no idea what people go through in a day and sometimes, you can't give your best but everytime I have been, I've recieved the best so 100 stars for steady

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food here at Steady's was delicious and served a generous amount. I ordered 2 small meals (jerk chicken and curry goat) and a drink that came up to $30!! I also gave a tip and no thank you! As I entered the man working behind the counter did not even greet me, no friendly smile and looked so serious, he was also very slow in serving the food. Customer service and a friendly smile would not hurt especially when you're running a business! He offers limited menu items and they all come with rice and peas and a small coleslaw! They should have variety because not everyone eats rice! More disappointed with the service received than the food. The food does taste better than most Caribbean establishments I've been too. Not sure if I would return but if you're in the area give it a try!
