We are very happy with Chartwell Traditions since our mother moved in about a year ago. She settled in right away due to the wonderful support of the staff. Her suite is beautiful and just the right size for her. She loves the food, and enjoys all the entertainment they bring in. She gets regular exercise there and has her medication managed for her as part of her monthly fee. She plays the piano by ear and they have a grand piano that she plays regularly. She says all she has to do is sit and practice for 5 minutes and people gather around and start singing. It is a happy environment with lots of laughter. When she had a drug reaction last year, the nurses and staff managed all her needs which was such a relief for us as we live too far away to help on a daily basis. With our mother being so happy, we can put our minds at ease. We are so thankful for Chartwell.

I’ve lived here for 4 years. I have no complaints. I loved the happy hours and concerts in the dining room. The Cobb salad is my favourite and I love meeting new people when they move in. I’m not a nuisance to my family and I still have my independence and can do my puzzles in my room whenever I’d like. The staff is wonderful in here and I don’t have to worry about cooking and getting my drugs from the drug store.

I was thrilled at how easy it was to move my mom to Huntsville and it was the staff at Traditions that helped so much!! Mom has been residing there now for 4 months and is very happy. She gets wonderful meals and lots of attention. Traditions has also been super about keeping everyone safe during COVID, although, it looks like they have super activities and I can't wait until everything opens up again for my mom.

My mother in law moved in November 2020 amidst the pandemic. Not only did the staff do an excellent job of settling her in but did so under the ever changing province mandated Covid protocols. Each day during her first two weeks, Geoff our consultant, brought a gift for both her and her dog. This made her smile and the rest of the family felt like she was where she needed to be, both for her physical and mental health, She has since settled in nicely and has made friends whom she enjoys spending time with. The staff have been very accommodating, specially during this difficult time. Its a lovely suite with a great view of the forest, nicely maintained by the cleaning staff. Thank you.

Thank you to Peggy and the entire team at Muskoka Traditions. My parents moved into a townhouse unit and then eventually moved into the main building. The accommodations, dining and caregiving are excellent. We have absolutely no complaints. You can tell that the people who work here really care about the well being of the residents. I truly wish my parents could have stayed longer but they have now moved to long term care. We really do miss Muskoka Traditions. The relationships we made will never be forgotten. Thank you everyone. You truly are the best.

My Dad arrived at Chartwell Legacy Lane in October 2019, after a short stay at a rehab hospital in Toronto following surgery. It was the first time he had lived anywhere other than his own home which he loved!! He felt comfortable immediately and the day we moved his furniture in from his home he was more than ready to make his suite his permanent residence. I have been able to work with staff to accommodate any of his changing needs and all of our requirements have been readily met. Communication with the staff is always easy!! The phone is always answered and if the person who answers cannot answer my question (which is rare!!), they will quickly turn me over to someone who can. Formal changes in the status of the home, in particular during the pandemic have been very quickly and clearly communicated which is comforting. I feel comfortable knowing my Dad is safe and happy!! I can without hesitation recommend this residence, if you or a family member are considering it.

Good People! My mom just started living at Muskoka Traditions in November 2020 - she is happy there and adjusted quickly due to all the help from the great staff. Her apartment is so nice (I was pleasantly surprised!) and the supporting services (dining, cleaning, hair salon, wellness and health) sure take a load of our minds- we feel she is safe and well looked after while still maintaining independence. The staff even went above and beyond to help ensure my moms dog was looked after while my mom figured things out. From the beginning and right through the two weeks of mandated quarantine our Consultant Geoff was there to inform, guide, and provide emotional support - he was so thoughtful bringing my mom and her dog special treats and chatting with her. He and Peggy the Director worked with me to move through the process necessary for my mom to move in - not an easy one due to covid and that my mom was currently living far from her regular health care providers. Peggy keeps a watchful eye and calls if there is anything we need to solve for. The one suggestion I would have for Chartwell is to provide more clarity and direction regarding the health forms/needs to make the process smoother. Overall, I was so worried about the notion of moving my mom from living on her own into a seniors residence but as soon as I set foot in Muskoka Traditions I knew we were doing the best for her - and that has played out since. Thank you all.

We moved in on June 10/21. Never thought I would enjoy what I always called an "old peoples' home". I don't think I have had as much fun in years. Staff and residents like one big family. Staff are so friendly and supportive and so easy to talk to. Lots of sharing of good and bad with other residents. I feel so cared for and accepted for who I am. So many different life experiences to share. We are not old, we are just well seasoned and sure know how to enjoy life. I feel so secure here and have loved letting go of responsibilities. This is what retirement should feel like. Food is so good and having choices so nice. Suites are lovely, clean and fresh looking, and very homey. Bldg. is anything but institutional. Feels like I live in an apt. in a beautiful hotel with a very family like atmosphere. I feel the staff set the tone and they do such a good job. Thanks for making the last almost 5 months of my life some of the best. Getting old has its perks when you can live in a place like this. Location is just what I wanted, country like with the convenience of town living.
