I stepped into Mumm's Afro Caribbean Kitchen today for some lunch. I ordered the Jollof Rice and Fried Chicken, really yum. I'd recommed this gem to anyone looking for some Afro-Caribbean food! 10/10

One of the best places I've eaten at. I love their meat pies and jollof rice. I highly recommend this place! I eat here at least once every month.

I just noticed this place on my way by today and had to try it. Apparently they've only been open about a week. As a first trial order, I picked up the jerk chicken and fried rice. Wow!! It is sooo good. The rice is savoury, with peas, carrots, tender kernels of corn, and even shrimp! The chicken is thoroughly seasoned and cooked to perfection. I also got to sample their jollof rice - so flavourful and tangy! On top of that, the owners - Tinuola and Lenni - are very cheeful and welcoming. I'm so happy Mummy's has opened in this neighbourhood. I will definitely be coming back to try more of their menu.

I really like west African food. If you are a foodie start with the Jollof rice and chicken. They have Fufu (pounded yam) that Tic Tok has now made famous. You will not be disappointed if you enjoy spicy food.

The jollof rice and jerk chicken tastes good. However, The portion size for the soups and pounded yam can be improved. I ordered the pounded yam and ogbono soup and the portion size was significantly less than what I usually get. Please consider consistency an area of improvement.

I enjoyed the Jerk Chicken and Jollof Rice. Well balanced spices and cooked perfectly. Friendly service. Fair prices.

I got the jollof rice and jerk chicken (only because they were sold out of the stewed chicken). The jollof rice has a great tomato flavour and a bit of spice/heat to it as well. I can't wait to try the jollof rice and stewed chicken next. I also got 2 meat pies and they are way bigger than I thought (1 is more than enough). The pie is buttery and the meat filling is savory. The food is really authentic and the owner is very nice. They also have a lot of different juices.

I am appalled by the quality and portion that I was served today after ordering for the first time. I drove from Brampton because I wanted to try African cuisine for the first time. I wanted FUFU and stewed chicken. Unfortunately I was told they didn’t have any fufu Wich was fine, and decided to still get just an order of Stew chicken. He asked if I wanted rice and I said No. As I was waiting for my food I had realized that the man had placed this PLASTIC container in the microwave to warm up my Chicken and I went outside to open this said container only to see 2 small pieces of chicken that were a leg and thigh. 1 full chicken leg with very little red sauce in the bottom. I was Charged $12 plus Tax and $13.65 after taxes. Pretty much $14 for a leg of chicken what I am mostly mad about is that he actually thought that it was okay to charge such a ridiculous amount for such little food. I walked right back in and said that I am a very reasonable person and I just cannot walk away knowing that I’ve basically been robbed and possibly poisoned. He wanted to give me more meet not even realizing that I fully seen him microwave my food in plastic the same plastic that I was served the food in. I didn’t even mention that part just asked that he return my money and I leave empty handed. I also need to mention that the Said Man was sweating so badly that there was a fountain running off his head. I don’t even want to begin to imagine what else goes on behind that curtain that customers can’t see. I highly not to go here. So the same day I walked away from here I then decided to try another restaurant and It was called Golden Gate in Etobicoke yes African cuisine. Right away I saw a different vibe the guy taking orders was wearing a hair net, mask and even the chef in the back same wearing a hair bonnet. Don’t let me get started on the food 10 outta 10. Definitely one place I will be going back to that’s forsure. As far as Mummy Afro’s goes just appalling to have such a horrible customer experience. First I said I wasn’t going to leave a review but after coming all the way from Brampton just to have that experience I felt like it was definitely needed to be said. Hopefully the owner will see this and really think about some necessary changes. I was in culinarily school and I know good service and proper care and handing when if comes to the food industry. I’m a little mad at myself for not taking pictures prior to giving the food back or I definitely would have attached them to this review.
