Mt. Woodside Gliders Launch

It is a spot maintained by the paragliding and hanggliding association using their own money. I see that some jerk drove around the boulders and parked on the paragliding launch surface to take a picture of his Jeep. It is not nice to destroy other people work. This is not a campground, the fires are not permitted there as the surface is very flamable and could ignite the whole forest. There is a toilet, maintained by the pilots, it would be nice to keep it clean. In the past there were people shooting heavy ammo in the nearby forest until the RCMP and the City got involved, now the shooting is illegal there. People are allowed to use this area as viewpoint as it is on the Crown land, but the lower launch ramp is old and it might be unstable, I do not recomend bravery near that clif. The old weather station that served thousands of people was also vandalized, so I suggest to keep your car locked and not drive all the way to this spot, park at km4 then hike for about 300m. Some cars and trucks get stuck near the paragliding launch as it can get slippery and it is very steep, only 4x4s can get out. It can offer spectacular sunsets or paragliding launches views. Not accessible in the winter except by snowshoes or snowmobile. In the spring most people drive to he snow level then they hike. It is a 4km ride on a gravel road. During the rainy days, 4×4 is highliy recomended.

Such a cool spot! If you go, DO NOT build a fire in the rubber mats, put your fires out, watch out for logging trucks, and take your garbage with you. Enjoy!

Its such a beautiful view that any hike or drive is worth it. People are so blessed to be able to launch from there. Enjoy and clean up after yourself.

Stunning views on a good day right over the Fraser Valley and a great look towards Mt Cheam. Trail up is a service road that most decent 4WDs would be able to tackle, but walking took about an hour and a half. It's a steady climb the whole way but worth it for the view at the lookout

Super nice view, definitely worth to try, but make sure bring em those 4WD out coz you don’t wanna get stock.
