★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If you're looking for a day trip from Vancouver, I highly recommend Galiano islands. It's a short ferry ride across and we'll worth it to head out on the earliest ferry out..the island is beautiful and is calling for you to explore it . Hike up the Galiano mountain and be prepared for breathtaking views ? keep your eyes peeled for the Marine life!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Most hikers will take 45-60 minutes to reach the summit where the view of the Southern Gulf and San Juan Islands is spectacular. There is a precipitous drop off. Probably the best island views. Sensitive ecological area. Leave no trace - no outhouse, no garbage. Trail maintained by community volunteers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great afternoon hike on Galiano today. Beautiful views of Active Pass and the surrounding area. Nice view into Village Bay, Mayne Island. Pretty easy hike overall, definitely consider not doing it in the rain unless you've got the gear and are sure-footed particularly on the return. Very enjoyable overall. Stop in at the Sturdies Bay Bakery for a post hike snack and a coffee.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The first part of this hike was fairly steep, but overall I would term this as intermediate. The trails are well maintained with some sections having exposed roots, but about half is open path ways and easy walking. It was 6kms round trip from the parking lot with 285m of elevation. The views are absolutely incredible and worth the trip up!
