Mount Albert Home Hardware Building Centre

I have purchased fire starter bundles from this Home Hardware for a few years now. They are made by a candle supplier located in the Barrie area. Made of wood chips and wax, all in a cupcake paper cup. Works great, for camp fires and wood stoves. I tried to order them last year via their on-line site. Last year it was not on their web site, so I drove to them, spoke with someone who answered the door and was told that they would get them for me after I payed for the items. I Did this and was on my way home, no issues. So this year, I again tried to buy them on the web site, but only to find that they are still not listed. So I drove to the store, asked for them , but was told that I needed to call the store. Seeing I was already their, with only one other customer in the entire lot, I asked to speak to someone in charge, like a Manager. After a few minutes(5 or more), someone came to the door, said he was the manager. I explained my dilemma, and he told me I needed to call the store to arrange for the purchase for the fire starters. Seeing that I was already physically at the storefront, and speaking to the Manager, I asked if I could just purchase them now? He said NO, and then said "Have a nice day" and closed the door, locked it, and went back inside. Why would I drive all the way home, place the order on the phone Speak with someone, like a Manager,and again drive to the store?? How is this making any sense? Sorry folks, my days going to purchase anything from this Home Hardware in Mount Albert is over. Time to look for another source for the fire starters. Maybe E-Bay or Amazon can full fill all my future needs.... Logic does not exist at this Home Hardware Store. I do not need to spend time driving back and forth to help out a local business who cannot take the time to understand that all who come to buy from them are in the walking distance area nearby.

This is the best home hardware I've ever been to, customer service is excellent and the tools and building supplies are way above average for a home hardware. I wish they carried automotive supplies so I didn't have to send my mom to Canadian tire.

Convenient for fast pick up hardware items but more expensive than the larger hardware stores.

A shout out to Duncan and Andrea for going above and beyond to make sure my new wheelbarrow was greased properly. It might seem trivial but they spent a lot of time trying different fittings. They wanted to get it right and I really appreciate it! Thank you !!!! All staff here at this location are great! Customer service is excellent!

My wife asked the gentlemen to cut a piece of trim so it would fit in her truck. He was super miserable and just hacked through it with no care what so ever. Poor guy doesn’t like working Fridays I suppose.

I was looking for some grass seeds, a specific brand, and can you believe it? This was the only home hardware store that had them in stock. This is one of the smaller ones I've seen, but everything was organized well and the workers were very friendly. They greeted me when I entered the store, and a gentleman was very happy to help me find the grass seed bag I was looking for. I was a very happy customer.

Called ahead of time to check if they had a circuit breaker in stock… they said yes, they have 3… this model was sold out everywhere…so I drove 20kms only to get there and NO circuit breaker…. Manager or whoever, didn’t care to even apologize or offer to locate one at another store….. wasted my time.. extremely disappointed

Staff here always so helpful! If they see you kinda looking around they always ask if they can help. They don't just point you in the direction, they actually lead the way and help you while you're looking. Simply wonderful people!
