I along with my sister have probably spent most of our lives in this park. Our trailer was situated beside a well/holding tank and it still is, I am thankful for this well because it sticks out of the ground and gives us shade and privacy during our precious summer months. That short true story sums up how much I care about the park I’ve spent most of my life at.... The Ponderosa campground hasn’t had a pool since July and heading into a long weekend we were planning on having a group of kids up, I don’t even think the POOL will be able to LEGALLY operate since the city shut it down. I’m not saying don’t camp here because I don’t want to get kicked out but don’t camp here.

Just to inform everyone, the previous post that was put up about me regarding how I feel about ponderosa campground is false. I don't know why someone would be so low and vindictive to use my name to write negatively about this great space. They absolutely have issues in their lives and are not happy. I have been camping here for over 25 years with my sister and the family and am still enjoying the beautiful park. My sisters children have grown up here and have lots of friends and great memories over the years. My niece is now bringing up her beautiful daughter to enjoy the park as well. The park has so much to offer for families. They have Christmas in July, Bingo and arts and crafts for kids, Family day and much, much more. The owner and staff of the park are fantastic people. They are kind and friendly. Anything you need they are always around to help you. The park is a beautiful place to bring your whole family for the day or weekend. There is always something to do or just sit and relax. Ron Summerfield

We were on our way back from Sibbald Point Provincial Park after a night of camping and passed by this campground. We were interested to check it out for future camping plans. We parked the car by the registration office and proceeded to walk into the park. We were then stopped by a man yelling at us asking us where we were going. We explained we were interested to take a look to see what it looks like and he yelled back saying "NO it is a private property!" and went back into the office. We were shocked at the response and the level of hospitality at that place. We came in to explore and learn about the place but instead were yelled at and turned away. Such a disappointing experience and a place we will definitely not be going back to. We are very fortunate to have the Ontario Provincial Parks system and I learn to appreciate it more every day.

This park is only for drunks and not family friendly. If you’re a wild party animal then you’ll love it, otherwise, you’ll need to keep your kids with you at all times. Even the owner drinks excessively, becomes obnoxious, and throws you out.

I have had the good fortune to have Ponderosa Campground as my summer retreat for several years. The park is my paradise only 45 minutes outside the city limit. I have met lovely people in the park; some I consider very good friends. When you talk to the campers and they tell you they been there for decades... it says so much about the park. The events, every weekend there is something, from themed dances, to Christmas, Easter, Halloween, family day, tournaments, card games, bingo, the list goes on, there is never a dull moment. The staff are very helpful, respectful and courteous, always there to guide you or assist you in your needs. The park facilities are clean and well kept, the park grounds are maintained and beautiful. The pool- refreshing and relaxing, I would recommend this patch of paradise to anyone and everyone, so if you are looking for a fun filled weekend drop on by, it's where everyone is welcome.

My Husband and I have been in the Park for over 30 some years, our kids grew up in the park, and they just loved it, the park is very very clean and very well maintained. We all feel very safe in the park, as everyone is just like family to everyone. The owner Henry is a very honest man and fair , Yes if there is trouble he may ask you to leave the park which we all loved that, as that is why we feel very safe . Very good park would recommend to anyone starting out with their families.

Spent August long weekend at the park and it was wonderful. Owner is very nice as well as all the people in the park. Sites are very spacious and the park is very clean. There is a nice pool and a two parks (one for younger kids and one for older) which was great. They do a great job of making everyone feel welcome and put on great events throughout the weekend. We will be going back for sure!

I love this park so much lol I don't know why people are saying everyone is rude nobody is rude unless you are rude to them. and everyone is saying its not family friendly but past a certain time your kids should be in bed not wondering around sounds like a personal issue to me. the community is amazing just be nice to people and you'' see it.
