★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mototech Automotive is hands down, the best and most professionaI vehicle service garage I have ever been to.
I have owned many vehicles and have been through many car service companies. We now have a Mercedes Benz SUV. When we took it to the Mercedes dealership in Vancouver, all they told us was that it wasn't worth fixing and that we should just trade it in while it still ran. When we brought it to Hal at Mototech, he fixed the things that needed to be fixed and gave us a timeline for repair for the future. That was two years ago!! Mototech HAS NEVER been dishonest with us and we trust him immensly. He saves us money on regular maintenance and reminds us when we need servicing. I have never had better service than I have had with Hal at Mototech. He and his staff are incredibly accommodating, knowledgable and Hal has been flexible with billing and payments. Thank you so much Lou and Hal for being there for us over the last two years! I don't know what we would do without you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ In my experience with 8 years in the automotive industry, I can say without a doubt, Hal is a repairman of integrity and honesty. Not sure what motive some of these other bad reviews are, but Mototech is highly reliable and extremely fair. Can't recommend enough!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU WANT TO KEEP YOUR MONEY. I was quoted a 1 hour fee to have my brakes looked at. I asked them how much would it cost to change the transmission fluid while they had the truck up? Hal said the only add on cost would be the price of the fluid (because im already buying 1 hour of shop time for the brake inspection) A 5 minute drive to test the brakes, 20 minutes to drain and refill the transmission, and a 10 minute conversation about brakes, So a total of 35 minute appointment. Then when i go to pay, they added a second hour of shop time to the bill. These people tried to charge me 2 hours of shop time for 35 minutes of work. The only way I got out of there was talking them down to cutting one of the hour fees in half. They made me feel bullied and I will never return. They think its still 1997 and people aren't going to rant about their terrible service on the internet.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always informative, reasonably priced, accommodating, and helpful. Moto-Tech educates drivers on how to look after their vehicles. You are not rushed and all questions are taken seriously and answered. Unlike other shops that rush into the job with little or no explanation, Moto-Tech ensures you understand. They record all work and look after you for the life of your vehicle. Always helpful and there to fit you in if at all possible! And, super nice people with lovely dogs!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I came in here for some last minute work, changing over the ball joints on my steering Knuckles.
I was treated very fairly, and they were able to get the job completed very quickly. The quality of the workmanship looks excellent and thier price was very fair. I will definitely be coming back.
PS- we loved thier dogs!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ BEST AUTOMOTIVE SHOP IN TOWN
I’ve been to many shops around town and found what I thought were pretty decent places. I got a recommendation to go to Moto-tech and I’ll never go anywhere else.
You can tell they take pride in their work and actually were finding ways to cut down the cost of my visit. They insisted on taking me back to the shop to actually look at the issues with my own eyes. This, to me, shows they have nothing to hide and are completely transparent with their work.
How anyone can give them a 1 star and say they are dishonest is very strange and not a true representation of what this place is. Just give them a call and you’ll know what I mean (the lady at the front desk is wonderful).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I've had good experiences with them in the past which led to me booking an appointment for a wheel alignment even though they are on the pricey side. Turn up for the appointment and no one is there. 15 mins later one of the mechanics shows up and tells me the front desk lady had an important appointment today and that the shop was closed. I understand this is a small establishment so this is bound to happen, but communicating that to your customers before they show up and find an empty shop is important.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Anyone who knows me knows me and cars have a very tumultuous history - which has lead me to use almost every available mechanic and auto repair shop in Nanaimo. Without question the folks at MotoTech are the most straightforward, friendly, affordable, and reliable I have ever come across period. If you need any work done on your vehicle, have a repair, or need a second opinion, do not hesitate to contact them. It's clear they take pride in their work and treat their customers like family (unlike many MANY other shops in town who will shortchange you at every turn or massively overcharge you when they can). I truly can't enough good things about this place and will be a returning customer for sure.
