Morneau Shepell

This has been the best workplace for me so far

My daughter has had to deal with Morneau Shepell and has been denied STD twice for fibromyalgia. Total cost for obtaining all the doctors forms requested by Morneau Shepell is well over $700 which is a burden my daughter has had to carry as Best Buy is not compensating her for all the medical documentation. However, Best Buy is in essence forcing her to continue by pressuring her to appeal or return to work. Morneau Shepell refuses to communicate with her attending physician and when she askes for clarification from them, they refuse to answer her as well. According to Morneau Shepell there is nothing wrong with my daughter and she needs to go back to work. News flash, you're an insurance company not an attending physician. Fine if you do not want to compensate someone who is sick but it is not your place to tell someone who is battling an illness and trying various medication in an attempt to improve their condition and under a physicians care, that they need to go back to work when that same physician is stating he does not want his patient working while undergoing treatment. In essence you're telling her that she is crazy and there is nothing wrong with her. To make matters even worse they relayed this information to her employer who is now demanding she returns to work or they will consider her absence as job abandonment. She has provided doctors notes indicating she will be off work and is now at a loss on what else she can do. Her stress level is through the roof which is having an adverse effect on her treatment plan and it pains me to watch her condition deteriorate. I have never been so disgusted in all my life by the treatment she has received from Morneau Shepell and Best Buy. This whole process has been appalling.
