★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Some of the staff is friendly while others have no care in the world about their customers, owner seems nice but is very two faced when you least expect it, store is clean and well maintained but prices are outrages when you can go to ANY other grocery store in town and get the same item for a quarter of the costs, as a past employee I can confirm they don’t care about their employees and I would not recommend going here to anyone

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Large grocery store with a selection of anything you will need! This store has housewares, electronics, clothing and pharmacy also. Our go to spot for grocery and a great inventory of beer! This location has some of our favourite beer choices that are hard to find at LCBO. This is our primary grocery store in Ajax!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I have never been to a place that has sold "fresh bread" at full price 4 days after being baked. Most places with reduce it by 50 percent the next day. Have seen moldy bakery products there as well. Prices are we are way too high. I always bought Christmas chocolates for my husband...he said they tasted stale...looked at the package and the promo on it expired the prior year! Price gougers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Inhumane treatment of live lobsters. Lobsters are double stacked having to stand on top of each other without any room to move. Very sad and disturbing that Morello's thinks it is ok to treat sentient living creatures this way! Otherwise Indpendent is a great grocery store. I hope they can make changes to keep up with current food species welfare research.
