Moon River Marine

We cycled there on a beautiful morning a week or so ago. Did not really know what to expect at the end of our 22 km journey but was pleasantly surprised to see such a beautiful spot. Unfortunately the mood was killed rather quickly by a very unfriendly staff, they clearly do not like or welcome bikers. We entered the marina and not one of the 4 staff looked up or said hello. I tried to start up a conversation to get some colour as to where we were but they clearly sent out a vibe they did not want to engage. I asked where we could get some water as our bottles were empty and it was hot and they said we could buy some. I mentioned we forgot to carry money with us so is there a tap? and the lady who I could tell I was bothering - simply said that the tap water is not drinkable. As I was leaving there was an open half full bag of ice in the little freezer by the door and I grabbed two small cubes from the open bag while walking out, as it appeared to be open for all to use - and she immediately started yelling at me that she paid for that ice and I was stealing her ice. I apologized and said I thought it was free as it was a half open bag and she just kept repeating she paid for that ice herself - I said sorry left the ice cubes and in a quiet voice just said man for such a beautiful place you certainly are not very friendly - and she just yelled back at me that she thinks she is very friendly .... go figure As I biker I feel very unwelcome there and while we love the ride to the end of the road we will make sure not to go in that marina again - as they give out a very bad vibe to bikers which is a shame. The marina a bit before this one is much more friendly.

We have recently changed to this marina after going out of Moose Deere marina for 20 years. Moon River Marine is a great marina. Great staff, actually knowledgeable marine mechanics, and and overall well ran operation. Just finishing up our second year there and we are very happy with the change.

Nice Marina, easy access, staff was helpful, the store had just enough necessities, for our backcountry camping trip.

RUDE I used to rent boats and use this marina years ago , for many years, under the previous manager/owner. The current manager is rude and unhelpful. I was camping remotely and needed firewood. I phoned ahead and they didn't have, but a neighbouring marina did. I went to neighbouring marina but they only take cash and no interac/etransfer. He said I could get some cash at Moon River Marine. At moon river , I asked that if I bought some things as well, could I get a little cash back ($20) so that we could get wood. The young lady seemed fine with that, but then the manager chimed in and said no . He said it was because bank is an hour away. So in other words...they had the cash, they just didn't want to help out.I explained I would have to go back to my launch, unhitch my car, and drive for an hour each way and asked if he could make an exception and he said no. Again...they had the cash...they just wished to hold on to it so they could convenience one of their more desirable patrons. I personally think it was because I was dressed in camo pants and had a red scarf and an older boat...not the well heeled yuppies they prefer. I have spent thousands there years ago. Never going back there again, and will advise all my friends the same. Luckily Bill down at Moon River Cottages had what I needed (though had to boat quite a bit)

Beautiful place in the winter! Can't wait for summer to launch and fish there!!

Friendly staff. We used their service for a boat ride to get to an airbnb cottage that only had boat access. It costs $60 for a one way boat ride (we were a group of six and had a lot of luggage) and $10 per day to park you cark. They also have free service to throw all your garbage (yes, unfortunately you need to bring everything back from your cottage)

Great place to put in for Georgian Bay. We visited Moon River Marine this past weekend on a day trip to Henry's Fish and Chips on Sans Souci Island. It took about 35 min to get there by boat. The road in to the Marina from the 400 is all paved and easy with a trailer. We parked the car there for the day which was super easy. There is a public ramp next door, by the recycling bins, but it is very shallow and difficult. We used the marina's launch to exit and it was much easier. The staff at the marina were super friendly and helpful. They helped full up our gas in the boat and cans, we bought a chart, and they took a look at our trailer for us too. Overall, I think this is the best choice in the area for a day trip, out long term storage of your boat. They even have Tesla car chargers for while you are at your cottage or out on the bay. Awesome.

Coming up to our tenth year on Georgian Bay. What a beautiful place to be. Our experience has been greatly enhanced by the friendly staff at the Marina. They feel like friends and family, not just staff at a business establishment. Everyone at the marina has always been reliable, friendly and helpful. They also have a wealth of information about the local area and have always been happy to share. Last season, one weekend, I forgot to call ahead during the day to have our boat launched. I knocked on Wyatt's door at 10 o'clock at night long after the closing hours of the marina, he happily got off his couch and launched the boat for us. That saved us either a two hour drive back to the city or a cold and uncomfortable night sleeping in the car at in the parking lot. If that's not going above and beyond, I don't know what is.
