We showed up 30 mins early from our reservation and they sat us at the bar until table was ready , ordered 2 drinks each and then table was ready. Tender was a great man , full of conversation and he bought our drinks for us. Which has never happened before. Awesome. Then we got seated at our table. I really wanted the tomahawk steak, so that's what I ordered , and the wife had something smaller , can't remember tho. Both were amazing , we also ordered a bunch of oysters to start as I think there was a deal that day. Over all service was amazing , food was great , bartender was super awesome ,and clean place.. Only issue was parking . Will definitely come back again

It was a random plan recommended by a friend who have been to this place. I loved the welcoming atmosphere, the food and the hospitality. They have halal menu options as well. We ordered from large format share platter. We ordered 3 sides garlic butter mushrooms, truffle fries parmesan with garlic aioli and brussel sprouts without smoked bacon with maple djon dressing. For platter we ordered ribeye tasting. Along with the main course we ordered virgin drinks. To end our birthday celebration we ordered warm chocolate cake. The cake was very gooey and melting in the mouth. This place is perfect for celebrating your big days with your family and friends or for a date night. Ambiance is good as well. Highly recommended.

This particular review is about the Kensington Modern steak that I went to on July 3rd for my birthday. Everyone was so nice and professional. I go on my birthday every year to one of the locations atleast twice. The food was incredible as always. And I can’t praise our waiter enough. Tristian was perfect. We came in know what we wanted but was always there to give suggestions and make as laugh a lot. And at the table next to us I heard him explaining all the farms and the styles of meat. So knowledgeable, professional and definitely made the night memorable. I’ll always recommend you guys all the time. And will continue to come and support an incredible business whenever possible! Didn’t have a reservation and the place was full, asked the staff if something could be done since were originally from Toronto and leaving tomorrow. The staff was super helpful and arranged us a table which was super nice. Me and my wife decided to go for the Tomahawk and that steak did not disappoint. It was perfectly cooked, seasoned and simply heavenly…The service throughout was amazing, the staff was super friendly. I would definitely recommend to everyone. The steaks are a must have and the service will not disappoint. Also has halal options
J	Joey C on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We came here for dinner around 6:30 pm. It wasn't too busy as there were several tables left empty. It was our first time coming here. Was recommended by a few friends of ours. Our server was very friendly and really paid close attention to detail. Our order was repeated back also with a few suggestions on the sides. The popcorn on the table was so good. The truffle oil on the popcorn was a nice touch. We couldn't stop eating it. The Modern Caesar salad was good. That came out fairly quick and had no complaints there. Our entree did take a very long time to come out. Found ourselves waiting and even our server had to apologize for the long wait. We got the ribeye tasting and it was okay. The best ribeye was the Modern Bench. Which was surprising cause I've had the Brant Lake Waygu at other restaurants and was blown away. The waygu here was not as tender or flavourful. We found the steaks to be very heavily salted. Even the mac and cheese and fried were very salty. The brussels sprouts was very good and really helped cut the salt. The asparagus was fine as well. Nothing to write home about on those. The food overall was good. Only complaint was it was over seasoned and took a very long time to come out. Our server was awesome, she really took care of us.

We ordered Modern Benchmark and Wagyu with Garlic butter mushrooms, Truffle fries with parmesan garlic aoli and Brussel sprouts without Bacon as sides. Wow, the food was amazing! If something tastes better than you expected, you could use the word wow to express your surprise. Warm chocolate cake was a cherry on top and complimentary as a birthday event. Definitely going back again. Thank you Modern Stake House. #halal

We were there for “date night!” She helped us pick the wine to pair with our steaks and sides. We started with the wagyu dumplings… then I had the 12 oz striploin and my wife had the 6 oz grass fed filet. We added the mashed potatoes and Brussel sprouts. Now, normally I despise brussel sprouts! But these were DELICIOUS! The overall atmosphere was chill, yet, the restaurant was busy. What a great spot for a fantastic locally sourced meal! We will definitely be back. Ask for Fiona… she is the best!!

Their wagyu is expertly done. But it is the ambiance which brings the flavors to life. From the courteous servers to the dim lights and soft music. Everything fills the space but doesn't overwhelm and allows for a magical evening over delicious food. Situated in Kensington, parking is not hard to find and the location is easy to access. Treat yourself!
