★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lunch special butter chicken was not enjoyable. I believe I heard my meal involving a microwave. I was the only customer in the restaurant. Rice was sitting on a film of water (possibly from the salad?) The side salad was very sparce and spread out in a thin layer served with a mango based sauce. Butter chicken was not creamy. Lacked flavour. Was really was hoping for more given its past reviews were quite positive.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mirchi is a gem, the place to go for authentic Indian and Pakistani Cuisine. It wasn't busy when we arrived (that awkward time between the end of lunch, and the beginning of dinner), so Joseph, the owner and chef, was manning the kitchen and dining area himself (though help arrived closer to the beginning of dinner). There is a bit of a wait, owing to the fact that all the food is prepared fresh, to order, but it is well worth it - the end result is rich, and masterfully spiced and flavoured. Menu seems to be weighted more towards Northern Indian Cuisine, as well as that of Pakistan. Highly recommended for anyone looking for genuine Indian/Pakistani food in Vancouver.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ You wont get more authentic, delicious and fresh South Asian food elsewhere in Vancouver. A bit congested and rustic place. The owner-cum-cook is very humble and sweet person.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Everything was just a oily mess. I’ve had Indian food from all over the lower mainland and by far the worse and one of the more expensive ones too. Ordered two very standard Indian dishes with no substitutions. Was extremely disappointed as both curries were extremely watery where it literally just goes to bottom of the rice. Never again and would never tell anyone to go here again. Would much rather go to the Indian place on Cambie and 16th.
