Tldr: young gentleman that helped was nice, old gentleman that I presume is the owner, is a complete a-hole and acts completely unprofessional. Went here for a simple watch strap punch with my friend, the young gentleman that helped us was patient. He didn't do amazing job, but I didn't mind due to him providing good customer service (asking us if there needed to be additional adjustments to the strap, how it fit, etc.). After a couple of minutes being helped by the young gentleman, an older man walks in, we greet him as we believe he is another employee, he simply looks at us, doesn't reply, and continues to walk into the employee area. No biggie, maybe he didn't hear us, so we continue to wait. After the young gentleman helped us finish punching the holes, he asked if we needed additional holes punched for a better fit, we did, twice. While we waited for him to add these additional holes, the older gentleman begins muttering something under his breath. We thought he was simply on the phone with someone as he was sitting in front of a computer screen. The older gentleman gets up and walks around, continuing his muttering in Cantonese. He believed that we didn't understand him and he criticized and ridiculed us in Cantonese, saying how we were so picky and needed so many adjustments and that we purchased a watch without first making sure it would fit. We let the young gentleman finish and we pay, then I thank him and let him know I speak Cantonese. He obviously is concerned due to him knowing what the older gentleman said. I turn to the older gentleman and tell him that if he's so unsatisfied and easily annoyed at providing customer service, maybe he shouldn't be in an occupation that is mainly to provide customer service. He coldly tells me to not to tell him how to run his business. To that young gentleman, thank you for helping me and my friend with my strap and being patient. To that older gentleman, I am now not surprised as to why your store is almost always empty. Learn to treat people with proper respect, especially ones that are supposedly your customers.

I’ve been getting my watch batteries replaced and jewellery fixed for over 10 years. They’re quick with great prices and never encountered any issues. I’ve picked up a few gifts for my family at Mings too and they love it!

Not long ago, someone I know took a watch for a simple battery replacement. She later found out something was moving inside, so she took it in another place, once watch was opened again. The gasket was ripped and there was a piece of tape holding the movement of the watch together, obviously something was missing or became loose. Simon who is the owner, didn't want to be held responsible, probably did that so he is off the hook. When you buy jewelry pieces, watch out for what your choosing. If there some light hair line scratches or small dents. Simon and lots of other places buy scrap gold. Scrap gold means that you melt down the old pieces based on purity and make it to something new!!! When he sees things in decent condition he will reuse it. Which means your paying a brand new price and getting something used. That's happened to me in the past, where I brought him some silver to have an Amber piece redone, and he reused the silver mounts that I brought. His name is SIMON CHAN, he is extremely dishonest!!! BUYERS BEWARE!!! SAW REVIEW...BY "JACKY CHAN" - FAKE 5 STARS REVIEW !!! Jacky Chan is the brother of the owner of this store he does, gold smith work and repairs...he owns a jewelry store in Parker Place 2 the new development of Parker Place Oriental Mall. Don't believe me take a look, go there. You see him at his store and at Lawnsdowne working for his brother!!! UPDATED: I agree with Fergus Tai, on his review this store has no patience! Owner never accepts any responsibility! All they want is money, regardless of any customers! I forgot to add the owner is just plain stupid period! Not surprise to see such low ratings. Gave this store so many chances. The 2 regular jewelry store I go to now, all the staff said, I should of never gave him any business from the very start! LAY AWAY is putting a deposit down, when paid in full, you take it home. When I did a few pieces on layaway, owner Simon WONT SHOW ME ANY OTHER ITEMS!!! Only piece I got to see at the time was my layaway piece, I was buying. Once lay away was finished. Then he shows others, wanting you to buy more. I would just STAY AWAY!!! There's lots of other good jewelry stores in Richmond!

I feel so lucky to have found this place, and with it Wendy. My experience with Wendy from the very beginning was fantastic. I was unsure of what stone size I wanted, so she ordered multiple sizes for me to see and try out in a setting. She was so patient with me as I figured out what setting I wanted and what would look best on me. She was a wealth of knowledge and completely supportive throughout the whole process. She was flexible and easy to contact and never hesitated to provide me with multiple well thought out options. I can't thank her enough and ended up with an engagement ring and wedding band that are beyond what I had hoped for. Wendy is a wonderful person and exceptional artist who managed to take an idea in my head and make it a reality.

Rude! I went here to look for a gift. The staff was impolite...one of the ladies told me an *adult* more then once that I look like a big kid, and if it's a gift for a child I could share with them. Learn how to talk to people with respect.

When I asked him to fix the watch band, he put a lot of the watch so that it would never fall out again, and the body of the watch was damaged. Then when I said that I had damage, he said he had fixed the watch band. After that, no action was taken and I just left the store. Garbage shop. I will never go again.

I have my Seiko Watch battery changed for $10 to this shop , after two months the watch doesn't work probably. Go back to asking what happened? The guy asked for $80 check because not related to battery matter then I left Two days after I go to different watch shop check it , they open the watch found out the battery size is wrong. Almost 1/3 of size smallerthan originally battery and charged $8 dollar only. I have two compliants 1) When this store don't have the right size of the battery , they better off return my watch then changed wrong size battery 2) Wrong size battery can damaged my watch . This is the wrost thing practice that I have never heard

I went to this store to get my pearls necklace connector to be replaced. I pre paid $50 in order to get this repair work done. However, when I went to pick up my necklace on the next day, I found one of the smallest pearls had been misplaced. This smallest pearl was used to be very very close to the connector, but now it was misplaced right in the middle of the necklace buy the repair guy. I told the guy who repaired my pearl necklace that he had done something wrong, but that guy insisted the smallest pearl was in the middle of my necklace when I brought it in. I showed the guy my necklace previously photo, but he still insisted the smallest was in the middle of necklace. He said, if I want him to get the job fixed, I must pay another $30 to cover the mistake which he had done! Vey bad service! Don’t go!
