This is the worst place to put a loved one. I have never seen such rude and disrespectful people In my life. At first they act all nice but the second you leave they are totally different. I would advise you to never put any family members here.

If I could give this place a zero star I would this is the worst place to put a loved one the shared room there is only room for a bed nothing else no dresser no chair to sit in nothing . Their idea of common room is to place the residences in the main access area around the nurses station against the walls all sitting in wheelchairs and staining at the ground the tv room that they advertise also is the area they are to eat in the tv is not on and is smaller than you would find in your child's bedroom there is nothing for the residences to do but stare at the walls. This is by far worse than a jail cell or a homeless shelter especially when the residence are paying over 2000.00 a month for the horrible conditions there.

The Staff work very hard, there's a grand ? for elderly, among many other ways to occupy time, it's social- as with every attempt possible, the staff accomodate to best abilities politely, even nurturing families to keep involved with their loved one's and upkeep. The biggest joy is in each unique resident.

The place has great amenities. The staff running the place are really rude. They never return your phone calls. Also I've never seen worst people for jaywalking. Everyday around 3pm the staff would set a bad example for children . If they don't care about children they certainly don't care about old people. Just don't expect much from this place.

I beg you to not leave Your loved one’s in this facility. My grandmother stayed here until her finally stage of Alzheimer’s. one day she was walking and eating on her own, the next she was rushed to the hospital with a blood sugar of 33. No phone call leading up to the hospitalization. They should have called the previous days to inform us the blood sugar was rising. The hospital stabilized her and got her BS back down, she was returned from the hospital. From this day forward ( 7 full days) her trauma, mistreatment and decline became very clear. They were very rough with her, yelled at her and scared and startled her. They came in and shock her to get her awake. She could no long walk, because she could no longer walk they left her in her room and barely checked on her. Her last three days in the facility I can in to be with her early morning, and she was covered in feces, her fingers, nails, face, bedding. The first time it happened we went out to tell them and the lady said her psw was on break. So I changed and cleaned her. It happened again the next day and the last day ( that was the day we took her out of the home) I showed up and they had her stripped naked feces everywhere and the psw was yelling at her while she was cleaning her roughly. She didn’t know I was there. After coming home from the hospital she also could only eat purΓ©e and they didn’t taken any time or have any patience in feeding her. She went days with food and water. When we rallied the family to move her into Palliative care ( clearly she didn’t have long to live) they stalled us and refused to let us have a referral. She was in excruciating pain, they would only give her Tylenol. We decided to put her in our own vehicle, and take her 40 minutes away that has an amazing palliative care unit. Only then, when they realized we were serious did they fax a doctor for him to sign referral papers. We left everything of hers behind. Got to the emergency department in Oshawa, where the doctor told us she had days to live. We are now in palliative care unit she is very comfortable. No more pain, no more yelling, or being rough houses. She can die in peace. PLEASE DO NOT ALLOW YOUR LOVED ONES TO BE SUBJECTED TO SUCH DEGRADATION, HUMILIATION.

Midland Gardens is a dreadful place for your loved ones. Unfortunately, we had no choice as it was the only place available for our family member. If you have a choice, do not place family members here. We noticed a quick declined in our family member after just two weeks of being placed at Midland Gardens. The staff is disgraceful. They are all a bunch of phony, lazy people who fake their sincerity when you show up to visit. They always have the same excuse of not having enough staff or that someone called in sick when you ask questions pertaining to the proper care of your loved one. They should all be ashamed of themselves. This is no way to treat vulnerable seniors. All I can say – visit every day…keep a close eye on your loved one!

My MIL was moved to this home about 2 weeks ago. She has been in quarantine as she was moved from a hospital. I just got a call from one of the staff to tell me my MIL had a fall from her bed. No explanation of what happened or how it happened. The number on Google has a voicemail that is not set up. How could she fall under your care. Her bed should have had bed rails.
