They’re okay with oil changes, but not so much on diagnosis. Be careful! They will try to upsell and rip you off. They tried to make me pay $700+ on things that did not even need to be serviced. I suggest having a trusted mechanic to have a second look at your vehicle before agreeing to any repairs!

I use to take our 2013 honda civic to this location for an oil change because it was convenient and our schedule is to busy for me to do it. But this time they told us the vehicle needed some repairs. When i arrived home i looked at they estimate and was like why they recommend us to replace those items. I know one of them ( the serpentine belt) is not even 6 months old and the other one ( transmission fluid) is 2 years old and still has a nice color. I know because replaced them myself and have all my records. I went back and asked the advisor to show me in person why they recommended those items and asked if they are going by old history or the tech actually checked them. He couldn't confirm because he was off the day of the inspection. He came and look at the vehicle and after realizing that they were wrong started to tell me he trusted is tech more than anything and how should they know the item was replaced if they are not the one who replaced it or its not in the carfax maintenance reports. Told him so you didn't check and calling something just for no reason. And prior i called them once because on our invoice they charged us for 5w20 oil grade when our car asked for 0w20 and we paid for 0w20. The advisor told us its a typing error and the right oil was use. Again its hard to know because i couldn't verify it. I was a tech myself for years and unfortunately wrong practices like this is what make people dont trust automotive tech in general. I dont normally make bad reviews but was not impressed by the advisor after he walked away like you know what whatever lol have a nice day kinda way. You have to be very careful with those franchises and im sure lots of people will just fall in they trap and waste they money

BUYER BEWARE. SCAM. SAFETY HAZARD. INCOMPETENT ADVISOR, TECHNICIANS, MANAGER.  FAILED TO PROPERLY DIAGNOSE VEHICLE. SEXIST MANAGEMENT. LACK OF RESPECT.  LACK OF RESPONSIBILITY. CAR STILL NOT REPAIRED (see detailed review on Midas Winnipeg Facebook page.) June 19, 2021- Brought my vehicle in for 2 concerns. First was an oil leak and second was a rotational noise when driving. After diagnosing the issues, they provided repair solutions for both concerns and ensured the repairs would solve the problems I brought forward. $1400 and many frustrating and disrespectful encounters later, neither issue is fixed. Car was given back in worse condition than what I brought it to them in. They've returned my vehicle to me with a missing lug nut and engine cover. On a drive home, I noticed my car was vibrating and crashing more than usual. When I got out to check, there was a missing lug nut. When I brought this to their attention, I was told to "drive my vehicle to the shop so they could put it on" or "come get a lug nut and put it on my vehicle myself." It is beyond me that after putting a customer at risk as well as others on the road, they would have the audacity to tell me to continue driving my car KNOWING it is not safe to drive. I refused to take part in this, so I had to demand a tow truck be sent. It’s concerning that I had to argue with the team at Midas into doing the right thing for the sake of safety. As of today, July 6, 2021, I have had to revisit Midas 4 times trying to get the issues resolved that they promised me the $1400 service would fix. But essentially what I’ve found out is, this team is not competent enough to diagnose or service any vehicles. Their recommendations of services are not designed to resolve the issues customers come in with, but rather to increase the total service cost per customer the best they can. For them, females are the easy target. It’s simply a scam and just like all good scammers, they wash their hands dry after they’ve been paid. I have spent countless hours trying to rectify the situation with this location’s advisor (Faroon), Manager (Clint) and Owner (Mike). Management has not put even the smallest effort to try and help rectify the situation - nor a simple apology. In fact, the owner himself went as far as stating "let's not be dramatic, your safety was not at risk" after I was left with a missing lug nut. When questioning the actions of his team, I was met with “I’m sorry but you’re not really a mechanic”, essentially dismissing my voice as a female customer. They have even gone so far as to make alterations and modifications to their initial diagnostic report in history, to showcase that everything was documented to benefit them. Unfortunately for them, I have screenshots of all the initial reports and documents. I've had to get a technically apt third party involved as my concerns were not taken seriously. The third party had to explain to these "expert" technicians how to properly do their jobs. The manager Clint fully admits that the oil leak still present was part of the same engine oil leak they fixed; however, they failed to diagnose the root cause of the oil leak during the initial repair. Instead of an apology or ownership of their mistake, he had the audacity to provide me additional repair quotes. I have already attempted to rectify this with the Midas Customer Relations team, but they have been of no assistance. Therefore, I would recommend that anyone be weary of using any Midas location as your choice for automotive service/repairs. If you value your safety, your hard-earned money and any form of basic respect, there are about 5 other repair shops within a very close proximity of this shop that you will be better off utilizing. In fact, feel free to leave a comment on this review and I can personally provide you with references for other more honest and reliable mechanics. Think twice about bringing your vehicle here, unless you would like to risk wasting your time, money and trust on a shop that thrives on scamming customers.

The service was amazing, the manager James was friendly & very helpful. Change over my winter to summer tires, the next day there was a nail in my tire. James fixed the tire on the spot, and quickly. ??

I chose to take my car to Midas after reading a lot of positive reviews and hearing that their services were good and reasonably priced. My car had been dealing with a problem since last summer (2021), and my dealership (Birchwood Hyundai on McPhillips), had done a diagnostic test and told me that there was nothing wrong with it and they did not find the problem. I decided to take my car to Midas on McPhillips and I am glad I did! James the manager is a fantastic guy! He made me feel welcome and he was open and honest and him and his team were able to find the root of my car’s problem. Midas saved me over $300 instead of going to my dealership who would have not only ripped me off but would have treated me as an annoyance rather than a valued customer. As a woman I can say that I have been taken advantage of a couple of times by my car dealership and auto repair shops and I am always weary of it happening again but my experience with Midas was nothing but positive! Thank you for treating me like a valued customer and for your care and workmanship!

I took a vehicle that I was selling to Midas on McPhillips for a Safety Inspection and when the initial was complete they provided me with a list of needed repairs; with their quotation; and a photocopy of an unnumbered safety inspection report (Issue #1) At that time; knowing what the cost was to repair the issues; the sale price was agreed upon. When the repairs were complete the vehicle went back for the completion check. The technician apparently found more issues than the first time around effectively doubling the cost. If what they found the second time was true, they had allowed an “unsafe” vehicle to go back on the road. Found out later that the technician used was not from that location and therefore not “able” to perform safety inspections on behalf of this location. (Issue #2) I was essentially called a liar by the manager when we discussed what had been done and have been refused any further discussion about a refund of the hundreds of dollars spent on a Safety Inspection done wrong. (Issue #3) I subsequently had to have the vehicle to another facility for a second Inspection at additional cost. Use this location at your own risk.
