Michael Hill Lougheed

A week ago, I went to Michael Hill with my mother to buy my engagement ring. The store is located in Brentwood Mall. The staff and manager were very nice and polite and had great customer service. They really helped me through picking the best ring. I was assured in case I changed my mind or if there were any problems I could exchange or return it in any branches. The other day my fiancé surprised me with a set of rings for our engagement and asked me to return the one which I had bought. Since I live near Lougheed Town Center, I went there to return the ring and I was expecting the same kind of customer service that I got in Brentwood Mall, but surprisingly the staff didn't behave properly! I asked them if I could return the ring but they intended to call their manager. When the manager saw the paper with the product description he refused to give me a return due to the fact that they didn't have that kind of ring in the store. So I should have gone back to Brentwood Mall to return it! I was really shocked because it was the same brand, besides he said he didn't have this kind of ring. I told my dad what had just happened and he got really angry and asked for the regional manager's phone number to talk to him. So I went back to the Lougheed store. While I was waiting for the manager to come I looked at the jewellery and I happened to find the same ring in the store! I got shocked again because he was obviously lying to me! I asked the manager to give me a return and added how urgent that was as I was in a hurry and my dad needed that money back in his account. He said I could get a return from Brentwood Mall only and he could not help me at all! I even told him that they had exact ring in the store but he refused to help again. He kept saying the Brentwood Mall's staff were waiting for me to give my return and he offered a ride to me to that store!, But the problem was due to the rain, traffic, and my other plans at that night I didn’t have time to go to another mall. Then I requested the regional manager's number. The store manager asked me to wait to get his boss’ number and after about 5 minutes he came back and said his manager was on the plane so he couldn't talk at that time. Then that store manager wanted me to give him my phone number so that the regional manager could call me! Asking for my phone number and offering the customer a ride to the other store to receive a service which they themselves were able to provide seemed very strange to me. Finally, not only didn't I get my money back from Lougheed, but also I received poor customer service plus plenty of lies from the store manager! My father is following this issue with Michael Hill’s head office and he is wondering why that man offered me a ride and asked for my phone number instead of giving me his regional manager’s phone number. My father and I are so dissatisfied and we don’t recommend this store to anyone to go there! ?

Worst service ever under the new management I’ll never purchase jewelry here again. Before the new management they gave really good deals and where very helpful. The new lady just wants to press over charged prices on you rather then help out with what your looking for.

This location is the best!! Super friendly and fun salespeople. They follow COVID protocols perfectly. Very knowledgeable and attentive. We won’t buy our jewelry anywhere else!!

Purchased certified Canadian diamond solitaire ring from Michael Hill Lougheed town centre Dec.2019. I had spent much time researching and shopping at other jewelry stores. The manager Scot at this location was very knowledgeable and informative unlike some of the other jewelry stores I had been to. I did not want to be pressured and make a decision quickly for this special gift. After much consideration I decided to purchase from this location. The staff was friendly and the manager answered all my questions. He just wanted us to be happy!

Went in today with my fiancé to get her ring resized where we got introduced to Linda. Would highly recommend dealing with Linda if you are able to since our experience with her was amazing! She was really helpful and answered all our questions that we had about the ring and also some wedding bands that we had looked at.

My wife and I bought rings from then in 2020. They were pretty sexist. After telling them that we both wanted plain, simple rings, they proceeded to try and sell my wife an extravagant thin ring with a diamond in it. We both just wanted something plain but they made it clear that the "woman's ring should be special." They didn't bother talking to me about what I wanted. My wife worked construction at the time, yet they insisted that I, a computer programmer, will ruin my ring while she "probably won't need to get hers cleaned or repaired." Finally, they assumed I would pay for it even though my wife was the breadwinner. Overall, pretty terrible experience. We made it clear what we wanted yet they continued to try and push their old-school values and expectations on us.

Went into this store Oct 2021. I wanted a simple pair of sleeper earrings. The woman assisting me did not listen to what I wanted and kept trying to sell me hoop earrings at 100s dollars more. "Oh but the quality. You won't get this elsewhere." I said no thank you many times and insisted she show me what I was interested in or I would try another jeweler. She slapped some sleepers on the counter and snarked at me "you want?" With a scoff. I said "not anymore" and walked away.
