★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is constant with mattamy, you'll say they're a great company if you don't know what you're looking for. This is a very severe hazard and a lawsuit waiting to happen.
Poured concrete footings on ANY weight bearing posts are required to have a form of anchor for the post and should be a minimum of 12” wider than the posts (4x4 post – 12” min. width, 6x6 post – 14” min.)
Lets calculate this for you, a 4x4 should have 8.5 inches all round.
A 6x6, 8.5 inches all round. Certainly don’t see 8-9 inches around the entire post, do you? Enjoy the fall from the balcony, hope you have a good lawyer.
