Markham Road Apartments - 1050

The worse building ever! Never will recommend this place to anyone.

Good spacious apartment located in prime location at Markham and Brimorton intersection.

Services of management are not good even there centralized heating and cooling system are not working. They are just making money.

They post misleading information on the rental website. I called in inquire about a 1 bedroom May 1st move in priced at $1575. The lady that picked up the call said the price has been changed to $1650. I suggest that the website should be updated to accurately reflect this information as to not mislead people.

Its the worst place to live, Rent a basement instead, when its winter your kids will keep getting sick because you pay for heat and you get none.. and you can't use 2 space self bought heaters at a time, the whole light goes off, its a huge mistake and the fact that your paying for what you don't get, its extremely unfair.

My beggist mistake renting over two years at 1050 Markham Road (Capreit Inc). My findings as under: 1. Extremely cold unit during winter. I have several emails as proof that the temperature was lower the standard norms but no positive action taken. Inspection records available at their office. As a result I bought blankets and heater. Paid huge power bills. I met a person in the elevator he said he has been living at this building for many years and the unit is still cold. 2. I signed up a month to month contract because I planned to move out. I informed the management over 42days advance notice but management said I have to notice at least 2months in advance. This is a genuine reason (cold unit...) for moving out but the management returned back to me stated I have to pay the losses until the management finds a new tenant because of short notice. Ended up contacting the tenancy board "Government". 3. Insecure and unsafe environment. For inStance: We had a parking spot outside the building but someone was able to open the car door and toke our stuff. Then we changed to basement parking. 4. Very dirty basement, carpets, elevators and main entrance door including unprofessional staff behavior. 5. Does not have enaugh closets and there is no mail box as well. There is small whole at the unit's door throwing your envelops inside your unit. Doesnt matter you'r sleeping or sick but the sound it causes wakes you up. 6. The management lacks proper schedule for maintenance. You hear a lot of noise (using hummer, machines...) during the nights at 10pm+- and on the weekends. You feel you live in the middle of no where. I have many stuff to share but the capreit does't worth my time. I am sharing only for people who is looking to rent units at 1050 Markham Road. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS BUILDING SPECIALLY FOR "FAMILIES". Thank you for your time.

Above good apartment. Is located at a place where everything feels close by. Better than the apartments in the vicinity.
