This seems to be a big veterinary practise operation with both large-animal and companion animal focused vets. We take our 2 retrievers here for all needs and have been happy with both the care and costs associated. Model of delivery still has us waiting in the parking lot while vet takes care of the dogs inside. I accept the need for now but really look forward to being with them and talking to the vet during the exams. Vet techs here are the friendliest and truly seem to like the dogs - though I bet they are very good to *all* their clients. I do get to talk to the doctor and always get a follow up phone call a few days after visiting. I think they are genuinely interested in my pooches health. Cost: This practise charges less than my last vet did for exams & medications. That's not to say it's actually cheap, but I don't know of any medical care that can be called inexpensive. I don't think they do any unnecessary work and they will discuss charges beforehand. Definitely recommended vets.

I have been taking my pets to Markdale Vets for 14 years, I love their genuine love and care for my furry babies. Also love the family pet healthcare payment plans, makes it even easier to adequately care for my pets. We always get tve right treatments for them too! I highly recommend these vets.

I wish I could give -100 stars. My poor puppy was suffering terribly about two weeks ago. No one called to check up on how my puppy is doing. All they cared about was taking our money. The vet we had at first was so nice, but every single one after was terrible. I also always felt extremely judged any time I went this office. I could go on and on, but my biggest advice would be to avoid this terrible office at all costs. We will not be going back here.

I want to thank the Vet staff at Markdale for coming in for an emergency for my German Shepherd Rex who was hit by a car! They did everything they could to save him but Rex’s internal damage was too severe. We are new to the area and weren’t even clients but that didn’t stop them from taking us on. We called other emergency vets and they refused to see Rex because we weren’t existing clients so for Markdale to agree to help us was a blessing. We were horrified that other vets in the area would refuse to see an animal in need. The vet and staff at Markdale were very comforting and supportive in our time of need and that meant so much. Although Rex had to be put down we are very thankful for all they did to help him! I would definitely recommend them to anyone!! We have now chosen them as our vet for our other dogs Squeak & Sakari.

We had been going to MVC for about ten years and have spent thousands there to care for our animals. Somewhere along the way they stopped using common sense and started pushing unnecessary testing before treating a common issue. My last and final visit was with my dog who had a fever and chest congestion. Fever and congestion verified by the vet, but her “plan” included two x-rays and 2 different blood tests totalling over $800. This was just for the diagnosis before treatment. I said let’s start with one thing and agreed to the unnecessary X-ray. After the x-ray I was told she needed to send it to a specialist (another $125), even though it showed congestion. At this point I said, no way, please get another vet and left to take a walk. Finally Dr. Foote (thank goodness, she’s great) came in and treated my dog with antibiotics, which I’d asked for in the first place. Two days later he was fine. That cost $550 and I had to argue to get that done. A month later I received a registered letter informing me they will no longer treat our animals…not even a phone call after 10 years to discuss the issues. My behaviour was unacceptable to them, and they said we didn’t trust them to treat our animals. That is not true, we trusted them, we just don’t agree with their eliminate every possible thing before we treat philosophy. We have found another vet practice that still seems to use common sense and we are happy to drive the extra distance. Amazing place. I’ve taken a lot of my animals there and they always care a lot about them and tell you straight up what they think is best. They also let you know all the pricing before doing it and give you lots of options on what they can do!

Friendly and helpful staff. I feel my pet is well taken care of when in their hands. They can come pickup your pet from their parking lot and will call you to do the appointment over the phone (which is convenient when you have kids with you).

Love this clinic and so glad we found them after a move to the area. The reception staff and techs are very welcoming and helpful. Our vet listens to any concerns we have, offers options, advice and treatment based on the most up to date knowledge and what would be best for our pets. She treats us as equal partners in our pets' care which we really value. This clinic also sends out annual reminders for appointment bookings which we appreciate. Great staff and great care!
