Macleod Trail Dental - Calgary

I use to really like coming to McLeod trail dental until they got this male hygienist who would try and sell me teething whitening products outside the dental clinic. I travel for work and have a new medication that caused me to gain weight. The one day I came in for a teeth cleaning booked in with a lady they said she was busy/had something come up/sick I’m unsure and asked if I would be okay with this man cleaning my teeth instead. He made a very rude comment about my weight gain that caused me to seek dental care elsewhere. Hearing that he no longer worked at McLeod I came back for an appointment. I unfortunately missed the appointment I booked due to my workplace not allowing electronics at work (so I could not call) and having forced overtime due to our vehicle breaking down. I explained all this and booked an appointment the following day. There was some miscommunication about what the appointment entailed and when I was trying to explain to the dental helper what was going on and my confusion it was met with hostility and she told me I was waisting her time. I had explained on the phone I did not want a cleaning unless it was covered by insurance and they said they would send it in before the appointment so I would know. When I told this to the helper she told me that my insurance was my problem to deal with not theirs. I also said that I had a sensitive tooth and I needed a bridge on the phone but it didn’t seem like they wrote all the information in the notes. The women who was hostile with me changed her attitude when the doctor came in for the inspection. I explained that I felt uncomfortable and that I didn’t think I wanted to continue this appointment. The doctor told me let’s do the inspection and then I can make the decision. Once it was completed I was finally safe to leave. I’m not sure what happened to this clinic. It use to be really wonderful! The environment seems really toxic now despite the good original crew still around. If you chose to stay or book and appointment make sure to stand up for yourself and tell the people trying to profit off their own business outside the clinic to pound sand.

I recently went to see Kathy the dental hygienist. Excellent service and she is by far the best I have ever seen.. She’s very gentle but at the same time she’s working very hard and doing excellent job. She have a high knowledge and she always give’s me advice’s how I could clean and how I can taking better care of my teeth and gum. For all my question’s she has answer all the time. I was distracted last time and I couldn’t finish my review. I was planning to write for a long time to let everyone know how awesome team is Dr. Gill and Tunde. I believe they can read each other mind because they are so fast and gentle, and the patient is there first priority. Tunde is very caring and I never had a problem with my saliva doesn’t matter how long Dr. Gill had to work on my teeth. Tunde, always making sure that I was confutable. I can only say that I had the best experience with these ladies every time I visit their office. Awesome job ladies, keep up with the good job.

Unfortunately, I was very unhappy with my experience at this dentist. I came to them to have my wisdom teeth removed, I filled out all of the paperwork they needed with my medical history and everything beforehand. I came in for my appointment and one of the assistants brought me to a room and said she would go see if the dentist was ready. She came back 5 minutes later and told me that the dentist took a look at my file and would not take me as a patient because I'm too high risk (health reasons). I was brought back to the front and charged $60 for the "consult". While I can understand the reasoning behind not taking me as a patient due to my autoimmune problems, what I don't understand is charging someone just to tell them no. I could have been told that over the phone, but instead I lost a day's worth of work AND was charged for a consult where the dentist didn't even step into the room to see me or explain the situation themselves. I went to another dentist and before booking I explained that I couldn't afford a consult session just to be told no, and my new dentist was horrified that that happened the way it had, and suggested I report it. I assume this isn't a regular occurrence, but I am really disappointed in this happening to me and think it could have been handle much better. Perhaps come in to tell me no yourself, if you're going to charge me for you time.

Upon showing up for appointment I was told that the moved me out of the schedule. I took the afternoon off work to be there. Wast of time. Response, I was told that you had called me to confirm. After checking my phone records I received no phone calls from the dental office. I was not told that I would still be seen. What I was told is that if the next appointment does not show up then they could see me. Very dissatisfied with your response.

After ignoring my teeth for longer than I should have I have spent alot of time here getting things back on track. Dr Gill is top notch and makes you feel comfortable. She listens and gets the job done. I'm finally not afraid of the dentist.

Great service and nice staff. The dental hygienist by the name of Demi is by far the best I have seen . I did not go for the dentist for more than two years because of Covid. Well, she did a great job in cleaning my teeth . Ladies and gentleman, you will no pain or discomfort, she has magical hand. I am for sure going to use her service in the future!

Had my first visit to Macleod trail dental, the staff was very friendly, got me in quick and did an excellent clean on my teeth! Dr. Yu caught some important problem areas and did a thorough exam. I had just moved here from BC and had tried a different dental office downtown which was just horrible. So happy to of found an exceptional place to look after my teeth!

Recently, I had an unexpected 3hr long major dental surgery with Dr. David and his team. The best ever experience I have had with the service being provided. Dr. David took his time to make sure the procedure being done properly. Moreover, the total cost for the procedure was surprisingly reasonable. Dr. and his team were great on post operative follow-up as well. I do appreciate their hard work and would recommend this place to anyone.
