★ ★ ★ ★ ★ MacKenzie Ravine offers a rather wide path 0.79 miles down to the North Saskatchewan River.
The path itself has a very gradual paved slope that walking back up is almost effortless. However in the winter and spring the path itself can be covered in slippery ice.
The last quarter of the path is replaced by a wooden path that eventually splits off in two different directions.
There is certainly squirrel and bird activity that goes on within the nearby trees - but seeing the wildlife is a bit tricky.
At the bottom is a water overflow spilling into the North Saskatchewan.
There is a tiny stream near the bottom that flows through some sort of drainage pipes.
A summers walk may change my overall review but I imagine it’s a nice nature walk for the elderly and possibly the physically disabled as it offers minimal physical challenge.
The rating of 3 out of 5 stars is not meant to be bad by any means - It just fails to meet my personal expectations.
