★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The food wasn't bad, just basic! We got the rigatoni and a spaghetti dish. The waitress was really lovely and took the olives off our bill since they came so late. If they could expand the menu to include more options that would be great.

This restaurant is incredible starting with the OUTSTANDING service provided by Kayla, to the well thought out delicious menu (we ate family style), to the wine and cocktails! The ambiance was excellent as 9 of my friends and I were provided with a lovely area to ourselves, yet not totally closed off from the restaurant that was bright and full of windows! We would all HIGHLY recommend this exceptional dining experience!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My wife and I tried LUPO for our 10 year wedding anniversary and we couldn't have been more pleased. The ambience had an authentic feel (i'm Italian), without being kitschy. The food and drink list had plenty of exciting options and all were for a surprisingly good price. The portion size was generous and we highly enjoyed our meals. We highly recommend LUPO and will definitely be going back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ So... I'll be completely honest here. I don't think Lupo was worth it for us.
When we were seated, our lovely hostess (and she really was awesome), mentioned that their concept is featured around Italian family-style dining. However, the portion sizes totally didn’t indicate that.
We ordered the half-size of the Rigatoni Alla Vodka ($22) and the Shellfish Fra Diavola ($19). I found the Rigatoni Alla Vodka salty and really missing the mark for me. The Shellfish Fra Diavola was good, but again, nothing to rave about. The environment and decor were lovely though and its a cute date night spot if that's what you're looking for.
For the cost of the half-size pasta dish and the portion-size, it wasn't worth it. My favourite Italian restaurant in Calgary (shoutout to @buongiornoyyc) offers double the portion for the same price as this dish. I fully understand that you pay a premium when you go to Banff, however, if the quality of the food and the portions were reasonable, I would be perfectly ok with it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Lupo is one of the best Italian restaurants I have ever been to . We ordered the Pizzette which was AMAZING!!! I had the half order of the Mafalda Sugo D'anatra and I find myself day dreaming about it throughout the day. It was a good size for me and very filling. My boyfriend ordered the full size of the Spaghetti cacao E Pepe and he absolutely love it ! He was stuffed after finishing the full sized order. We finished off with the Tiramisu which was HUGE and so so delicious. Lupo is a restaurant that I want to visit every time I am in Banff, you will not be disappointed!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Wow, what a brilliant addition to Banff! Stepping off the street into Lupo is like stepping into a dream. The interior design is truly unmatched and the Italian cuisine was true to its heritage. The view over Bear Street towards Sulphur mountain is awe inspiring. The staff were knowledgeable and courteous, willing to offer insights and suggestions. The food was delicious, especially the duck ragu pasta and the portion sizes are quite generous, which is great considering the price. 3 courses each and a bottle of wine was about $200 so I’d definitely recommend saving Lupo for a special occasion. Overall a fantastic new addition to Banff!
